An Analysis Of Euroscepticism From The Perspective Of Constructivism

At present,the international situation is showing turbulence and right-wing populism is rising globally.Within the European Union,right-wing populist parties such as AFD(Alternative für Deutschland),Front National and Five Star Movement have gained high support in recent domestic elections and European Parliament elections.This reflects the spread of Euroscepticism among EU members is quickly.Thus,it attracted academics' attention towards Euroscepticism.As a leader of the European integration process and a staunch supporter of the EU system,Germany's important role in studying Euroscepticism cannot be ignored.In recent years,AFD has risen rapidly with its two major policy propositions "Against the Euro" and "Against Refugees".This is a symbol of the growing influence of Euroscepticism within Germany.This article adopts literature research method,case analysis method and comparative research method.First of all,it summarizes the constructivism theory and its framework.Secondly,it studies the definition of Euroscepticism and its history,exploring the causes of Euroscepticism.Third,selecting AFD as an example,it studies the background,development process,party program and characteristics of AFD.Fourth,based on the integration theory of constructivism,it analyzes the rise of AFD from three aspects: norms,systems and structures;identities;speaking.Finally,based on the analysis of the rise of AFD,the root causes of Euroscepticism and the challenges it brings are studied.The future of Euroscepticism is also prospected.The development of Euroscepticism is related to EU integration process.Thus,Euroscepticism has a strong impact on regional affairs and even international affairs.Based on the theory of constructivism,this article analyzes the rapid rise of AFD,aiming at enriching the research results on Euroscepticism among academic.
