The concept of East Asian identity stems from the World War II and the East Asian regional cooperation context. The concept is not only the inevitable outcome under the development trend of human civilization, but also a conscious effort of people in East Asia to build kind of collective identity. Although the meaning of East Asia identity still doesn't have clear and uniform definition and its formation is also in probing, the emerging regional collective identity is gaining more and more attention from politicians and scholars. This paper attempts to do a shallow analysis on the issue of East Asia identity from the theoretical basis of constructivism, theexemplary role of the European identity and the point of view of the regional status quo in East Asia.This article starts from the core concept of identification. Then define thecollective identity in international relations context and the concept of East Asian identity. Here use the Identity and Community Peace Theory in constructivism as a theoretical basis to support for East Asian Identity study. Above all are the basic starting point and proof tools for shaping East Asian identity. In addition, the text clarifies several important stages of European identity establishment, and expounds the meaning to European integration from the theory and practice. The goal is to extract useful lessons and law for East Asian identity from the mature historical experience of Europe identity in order to building a reference frame of East Asian. The article focuses on adetailed analysis of the special situation of East Asia regional identity and the corresponding countermeasures. From the condition of point of view, East Asia has been owned the historical, cultural, physical and institutional basis toshape the collective identity. These feasibility factors constitute the cornerstone of the establishment of East Asian identity together. From the plight of view, there is diversity of political systems, economic level, national culture in the East Asian region. The negative effects of intervention forces from outside the region illustrate the establishment of a regional identity will face a long and arduous road of growth. Finally, this paper according to the status quo in East Asia, sorts out a few selective approaches from the theory, practice and experience for constructing East Asian collective identity.
