With the increasingly fierce competition in the agricultural product market,the implementation of the regional brand strategy of agricultural products is not only an inevitable trend of agricultural industry development,but also a realistic need to improve agricultural production capacity and enhance agricultural competitiveness.It is of great significance for improving farmers' income and agricultural industrialization.The public nature of agricultural product regional brands determines that its construction and development is not achievable by any market entity,but a systematic project involving government departments,industry associations,enterprises,farmers and other entities,especially as a public entity.As a specific policy maker and implementer,the process of brand building in agricultural products plays a leading role.This paper first introduces the connotation of government functions,expounds the concept of regional brand of agricultural products,discusses the necessity of the government to play a role in regional brand building of agricultural products,and then analyzes the government functions in the regional brand building of agricultural products through empirical research,and puts the functions of government into specific environment and specific background.Carry out empirical analysis on the special functions of the government in the process of regional brand building of agricultural products,systematically study the government functions in the process of regional brand building of agricultural products,whose purpose is to enrich and develop the theory of government functions,and to provide local governments with regional brand building for agricultural products.Empirical sample.In recent years,the Taishun County Government has done a lot of work in cultivating the regional brand of Taishun "Sanbeixiang" Tea.Through the introduction of industrial development plan,strengthening coordination and cooperation between departments,establishing tracking and protection mechanism,building public service platform and other measures,government functions such as decision planning,organizational design,market supervision,and public services.At the same time,the " Ningde Model" and "Lishui Shan Geng" model,which are relatively successful in thedevelopment of agricultural product regional brands,are briefly described,and the government functions of local governments in brand building are analyzed.After analyzing the examples,combined with the theory of government functions,focuses on the phenomenon of the government functions in the regional brand building of agricultural products: the backwardness of brand cultivation planning and management mechanism Poor operation,insufficient market supervision,insufficient supply of public services,etc.,and analysis of the causes of these phenomena,put forward some countermeasures to improve the regional brand building of agricultural products: First,to improve the government's decision-making ability;second,to optimize the design of government organizations;The third is to strengthen the market supervision function;the fourth is to build a public service system.
