The Debate Between Plehanov And Lenin On The Rationality Of The October Revolution And Its Contemporary Significance

Plekhanov was the first marxist in Russia and is known as the father of marxism in Russia.He was 14 years older than Lenin,and the two men developed a strong friendship during the long revolutionary campaign,but later they had major disagreements over the treatment of the Russian socialist revolution.The February revolution in Russia overthrew the autocratic system of the tsar,and faced with the coexistence of the bourgeois provisional government and the engineer Soviet regime.In view of the social situation in Russia,Lenin advocated that the revolution be promoted from the first stage to the second stage,and that the socialist revolution be carried out in Russia.On the other hand,plekhanov took Marx's thought of "two never" as the theoretical basis,believing that the development level of productive forces in Russia was still very low and that the capitalist economy should continue to develop.Which of the two men is right or wrong on this issue? This is not only a big theoretical question,but also a serious political one.Reviewing plekhanov's and Lenin's arguments on the rationality of the October revolution is conducive to our correct understanding and application of marxism,scientific treatment of Marx's "two never" thought,a full understanding of the rationality of the October revolution and our revolution,and more firm confidence in the socialist system.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,this paper is divided into four chapters:Chapter one briefly describes the background and process of the dispute between plekhanov and Lenin.This paper mainly discusses it from the following two aspects: firstly,it summarizes the background of their argument,including the change of plekhanov's thought,Russia's continuous participation in the first world war,and the victory of the Russian revolution in February.Secondly,the process of their argument is divided into three stages.Lenin's "outline of April" is regarded as the beginning stage of their argument,the bloodshed in July as the deepening stage,and the victory of the October revolution as the end stage.The second chapter summarizes the main content and substance of the dispute between plekhanov and Lenin.This part is the focus of the whole article,mainlythrough the interpretation and analysis of the original work to conclude the main content of their argument,and try to summarize the essence of their argument.They argued mainly about whether Russia had the material and class bases for a socialist revolution,the possibility of cooperation between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie,and whether the Russian revolution could be supported by other countries.This paper tries to sum up the essence of the two men's argument as follows: whether the relatively backward economic development level of Russia can carry out the socialist revolution.The third chapter is about the debate between plekhanov and Lenin.Who was right and who was wrong? I think plekhanov's view on this issue is wrong,and Lenin's is right.There can be no doubt that the October revolution was justified.This paper further analyzes the reasons for plekhanov's mistakes: his theory is divorced from reality,his insistence on vulgar productive forces and his departure from the masses of the people.Similarly,this paper also analyzes the scientific nature of Lenin's viewpoint from three aspects: emphasizing the analysis of the situation of Russian revolution,dialectically treating the theory of productive forces and objectively analyzing the revolutionary power of Russia.The fourth chapter expounds the contemporary significance of this dispute between plekhanov and Lenin.By studying the two people debate about the rationality of the October revolution,we can better understand and apply marxism,correct understanding of Marx's thought,"the two never" strongly back all sorts of wrong idea about the October revolution,fully affirmed the rationality of the revolution in China,and strengthen the confidence of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics.
