The transformation of economic system leads to a pattern of income distribution that is conducive to capital,which triggers conflicts between labor and capital.On the one hand,some scholars question the function orientation and wage premium ability of China's trade union Because of the complexity of trade union's role and the difference of trade union's right basis between China and the west,which make it is difficult to unify the research conclusions.On the other hand,the research on the wage premium of trade unions in China is often one-sided,ignoring the heterogeneity of the wage premium effect of trade unions under the influence of wage determinants and differences in the tendency of trade union participation in the segmented labor market.Based on the above background,this paper first studies the average level of wage premium effect of labor union based on the 2016 China Labor-force Dynamic Survey data(CLDS,2016),using multiple regression analysis and tendency value matching method.Secondly,according to the significant factors that affect the tendency of trade union participation,the heterogeneity characteristics of trade union wage premium are investigated based on the nature of enterprises,the state of labor contract and the income cascade.Before the empirical analysis,this paper first expounds the research background and significance of the wage premium effect of China's trade unions,and puts forward its own innovation points on the basis of reviewing and sorting out the relevant research literature at home and abroad.At the same time,this paper combs the theory of wage premium effect of labor union to ensure the scientific rationality of the research.The results show that,firstly,trade unions have significant wage premium effect and the average wage premium effect is about 15%.Secondly,the wage premium of trade union shows heterogeneity to different groups of workers.As far as the nature of enterprises is concerned,the wage premium effect of trade unions in public enterprises is significant and the wage premium level of trade unions is higher than the average,about 22%.The trade unions of private enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises have no significant effect on the wage level.As far as the status of labor contract is concerned,the labor union has significant wage premium effect on the workers who sign the labor contract,and the wage premium level is equal to the average value of about 15%,while for the workers who do not sign the labor contract,the labor union does not have significant wage premium effect.As far as the income level is concerned,trade unions have a significant positive role in promoting the wage level of middle and low-income workers,but have no significant impact on the wage level of high-income workers.In addition,the wage premium level of labor union presents an inverted "U" distribution with the increase of income level.Third,the role of trade unions in wages needs a certain "threshold",and the role of trade union is limited for the workers who are really at the bottom.All of the above results are tested by the method of propensity value matching On the basis of multiple regression analysis,the reliability is high.On the basis of the above conclusions,in order to play a role of trade union better and protect the rights and interests of workers,the paper puts forward the following suggestions: first,promote the construction of trade union in private and foreign enterprises.Second,enrich the functions of trade unions.Third,promote the construction of industrial trade unions.Fourth,improve the security intensity of labor contracts.Fifth,establish the linkage mechanism between labor contract and trade union construction.
