According to the records of statistics Canada,by April 10 th of 2016,there are1,060 thousand of Chinese immigrants living in Canada. Not only do Chinese immigrants play an important role in multicultural Canada, but also are the main parts of it.By comparing and analyzing, this paper will study the problems such as employment, income, language, marriage, culture and generation gap, after Chinese immigrant into Canada. In Canada,Chinese immigrants appear as two opposites. One is that most people who are well-educated and wealthy, though experiencing discrimination and cultural shock to some extent, can integrate into multicultural society with their adaptability and capability.Even few can successfully get into upper class.Another is that some people who don't have so much money and good education, can not improve themselves very well. They usually gather together in a settled cultural community, most of whom are not well adapted and accepted, even isolated from the multicultural society. For these immigrants, they need much more time, maybe a few generations,to fully integrate into multicultural society. There is not only individual difference, but also obvious generation variation among the groups of Chinese immigrants.Usually Chinese immigrants of the second generation received higher education and much more money, and they have much better adaptability in language, marriage and culture than the first generation. In general, the first, the second and the third Chinese immigrants transform from “ integrate into” to “included” in the society.Their ultimate aim is to make their children have a better life.So although the first generation work harder, they are willing to strive to establish a better developmental platform for their children. We believe that with time passing and generation changing,Chinese immigrants will finally find their own “survival rules” in multicultural society in Canada.
