Research On Liu Xiang's Practice Of Governing Sichuan Province

Liu Xiang was an important figure in the local power faction in Sichuan and southwest China during the Republic of China.The particularities of Liu Xiang's status as a local warlord are hard to assess accurately in history.But it was because of his special historical background and his status as a warlord that Liu Xiang made a successful practice of governing Sichuan in the land where warlords fought all the year round in the Republic of China.Although the effect of practice is very limited,it is of great significance to study Liu Xiang's practice of governing Sichuan Province as a brief survey of the history of the Republic of Sichuan.Liu Xiang's practice of governing Sichuan is closely related to his life and historical background.In this paper,the time limit of Liu Xiang's practice of governing Sichuan was not limited to when Liu Xiang really became the "King of Sichuan" in 1935,but from when he became the commander-in-chief of the Sichuan army and governor of Sichuan Province in1921,the period from 1938 to his death traces the practice he made for various governance construction in Sichuan Province during the Republic of China.These practices in all aspects,after combing this paper summarized for the political,economic,military and cultural aspects.In particular,Liu Xiang achieved political unity in Sichuan in 1935 and became chairman of the Sichuan provincial government,making many important practices to improve the situation in Sichuan.After the outbreak of the Second Sino-Japanese War in 1937,Liu Xiang changed his anti Japanese ideas and his influence on the anti Japanese thoughts of many officers and soldiers of the Second Sino-Japanese War,and also made a lot of practice in favor of the victory of the Anti Japanese war,this is of great significance to the history of Sichuan army and even the whole history of anti-japanese war.Liu Xiang's practice of governing Sichuan was confined to its specific background of time and space,and combined with the current Sichuan province's continuous push to build Sichuan into a new stage,liu Xiang's practice of governing Sichuan in talent training,agricultural economy,people's livelihood construction,People's Education and higher education can still be learned from the past,it provides many new thinking ways and inspirations for the construction of modern economic system,rural revitalization,the development of Education and the improvement of national quality.This paper adopts the methods of Literature Analysis,historical analysis and dialectical materialism and historical materialism.This paper is divided into four chapters,the first chapter is the introduction,the second chapter introduces the background of Liu Xiang's life and the practice of Liu Xiangn,the third chapter is the collation and study of Liu Xiang's practice,including politics,economy,military and education;The Fourth Chapter Evaluatesthe effect and deficiency of Liu Xiang's practice of governing Sichuan;The Fifth Chapter Discusses The experience and Enlightenment of Liu Xiang's practice of governing Sichuan based on the background of the new era.
