In recent years,due to the intensification of global environmental pollution,the increase in living pressure and unhealthy lifestyles,the incidence and mortality rate of cancer caused by Chinese residents have been increasing year by year.Cancer is an important disease that affects human life and health,not only will cause physical pain,seriously affect people's quality of life and life expectancy,but also lead to anxiety,depression and disappointment and other pessimism,patients and their families under great psychological pressure.Cancer has brought immeasurable mental loss to the family and society.With the development of cancer medical treatment,the overall mortality rate of malignant tumor patients is declining,the survival time is prolonged,but the psychological,social and emotional aspects of the spiritual needs but easy to be ignored.Although China has provided a range of cancer services for patients with cancer and other social services,but the psychological needs of cancer patients have not been given enough attention and satisfaction,which requires the intervention of medical social work.From July to September in 2016,G Hospital oncology and Sociological School of Nanjing University jointly carried out the "Ning Xin companion,hospice care"medical social work services,mainly in the form of group work on cancer patients to provide psychological support and social support.The purpose of this study is to explore the role of the group in the psychological adjustment of cancer patients,and summarize and reflect on the practice of medical social workers,and provide reference and reference for the comprehensive service of medical social workers involved in cancer.The study takes G hospital as an example.a total of 21 cancer patients in Nanjing G Hospital were selected as the subjects,and the group were carried out in a parallel group and each carries out six group activities.This article mainly use quantitative research methods,and the author compare the psychological status of cancer patients before and after the test relying on Distress Thermometer,Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 Chinese version,patient health questionnaire-9 Chinese version.At the same time,through self-evaluation questionnaire(patients and nurses)and interview outline to collect first-hand information,to explore the role of group work and medical social work in changing the psychological status of cancer patients.Intervention results showed that members of the psychological pain,anxiety and depression all have significantly positive changes.The average score of psychological pain score after intervention is 0.71,significantly lower than the previous score of 1.24;after intervention,the mean score of anxiety(2.86)was significantly lower than the previous test(5.14,P<0.001),and it was statistically significant;after intervention,the mean score of depression is 3.86,which was significantly lower than that of the previous test(5.29)(P<0.001),and it also was statistically significant.At the same time,the interview data analysis also showed that the mental state of thegroup members has a significant improvement,in addition,the contact and communication with family and patients has increased.Conclusion:The activities of the medical social work group have a positive effect on the psychological adjustment of cancer patients in G Hospital,and help to improve their relationship with others.
