The Expression Of People's And NGO's Discourse In Environmental News

Environmental news is the product of social construction in a certain degree.From the perspective of social construction,a successful construction of the specific environment narration is often influenced by factors such as political power,economic capital,business logic and scientific authority.With the improvement of citizens' environmental awareness and media literacy,the folk voice has become an important factor affecting the media's construction of environmental news.In this paper,under the guidance of social system theory and field theory,we taking the media's construction of waste incineration project as an example,choose the related reports of waste incineration in the Southern Metropolis Daily as the research object,and uses the method of content analysis to describe the textual features of the media's construction of environmental news,and mainly analyze the public and NGO's voice on the news field and its impact on the construction of environmental news.In the construction of waste incineration news reports,as a city newspaper,Southern Metropolis Daily focus on the incident and summary report of the incident of waste incineration.On the one hand,Southern Metropolis Daily pay enough attention to waste incineration issues,tend to be regarded it as social life issues,but in the waste incineration news,it also can't avoid the influence from political factors and even depend on political sources.On the other hand,the waste incineration news reports of Southern Metropolis Daily gives the public a larger discourse space,while NGO is in a neglected state.In the aspect of the expression of people's discourse,people have influence on the choice of framework of the news text in a certain degree,they tend to express the framework of public participation,rights protection and conflict,risk uncertainty,and they also have a significant impact on the anti-burning argument of news reports.The influence from different people with different economic status on the news text is different.Media's source quotes prefer the upper-middle-class people,but the expression of the middle-lower-class people is more inclined to provide the anti-burning argument and hold the anti-burning stance.In the aspect of the expression of NGO's discourse,NGO is a neglected presence in waste incineration news reports and has no significant impact on media's environment news making.In general,the public have a certain discourse space in the news making of waste incineration,and have the capacity to impact environmental news making.However,the media gives people discourse space while there are preferences for the economic elite,and NGO has not discourse space in the environmental news making of waste incineration.The status quo of the presentation of popular will and public expression in the news field suggests that the direct impact on the news text of Public and NGO is inadequate.To further promote the media expression of folk voice,they need to follow the operation logic of the media in the transition period and adopt reasonable media operation strategy,and need to continue to deepen the reform of the media system under the principle of Party control of media which is in order to appropriately relax the political restrictions for news report and let the medias play as public platform for public voice,and it's also necessary for medias to insist the idea of professionalism under the market conditions.
