| Since the new century,the global society has been committed to promoting social harmony and development through sports.Sports for the disabled,as an important way for the disabled to participate in social life,plays a pivotal role in today's society.The participation in sports events of disabled people promotes the public to realize the social dignity and value of this group.Therefore,sports events for the disabled are no longer simply a sports event,but more about spreading a new concept of disability.In the early 1980 s,China began to participate in sports events for the disabled in an organized way.In addition,as the official party newspaper of China,the news discourse of People's Daily' is authoritative,which represents the mainstream view of a certain phenomenon in Chinese society.Therefore,this article regards the disabled sports coverage of the People's Daily from 1982 to 2016 as the research object,using the news discourse theory of Van Dijk to analyze the construction and evolution of the disabled sports news discourse at all levels on People's Daily in these 34 years,and further to analyze the disability patterns in the news discourse during different periods.Study found that the People's Daily reports in all levels of the disabled sports has experienced three different stages of news discourse,which is crippled,disabled and the harmony of disabled and healthy.Three stages respectively adopted different discourse style from compassion,equality to the advocacy of the harmony of disabled and healthy.Different discourse implied the change of disability patterns and the different understanding of disability.In the new era,China is about to hold the 2022 winter paralympic games.The domestic media need to learn from the latest research results of international disability issues,update the news discourse,eliminate thebarriers to the participation of the disabled,and promote the social integration of the disabled groups. |
