It is a historical period which changes rapidly and revolutionarily for Chinese university internal management system since reform and opening-up.With deepening of the university internal management reform,many universities,especially those research universities,dismissed teaching and research section and started to promoting college system.Even though teaching and research section still be used at some universities,it has ceased to exist except in name.The weakening of basic teaching organization led to less communication among teachers and made young teachers cannot get enough guidance from experienced teachers.It also influenced teaching quality and students,training.At Present,higher education is getting popularized.It is curial for the reform and development of Chinese university teaching to improve basic teaching organization and teaching quality.The subject of the present study is basic teaching organization which is the most elementary unit of teaching process.The present study worked on the development vein of the basic teaching organization of universities,especially the development and evolution since reform and opening-up using historical method,interviewing method,case study and some other methods.At the same time,taking X university as a case,the present study investigated the status and problems of basic teaching organization at research universities.We found that there are some problems with the basic teaching organization at research universities,for instance,power in organization deficiency,organization functions differentiation,lack of management systems,teaching cooperation insufficiency,and interdisciplinary cooperation deficiency.The reform of universities' internal management system,the adjustment of academies and disciplines,as well as the evolution of the students,training mode,are main reasons to make the basic teaching organization develop slow.Concerning of current problems,the present study holds the view that to reconstruct the basic teaching organization we can start with organizational power,organizational structure,organizational system and organizational culture.Clarifying the relationship between the basic teaching organization and disciplines,teacher-centered construction,double world class construction and the assurance system of universities'internal quality is the trend of future research.
