A Social Work Practice Research On Improving The Leisure Life Quality Of Women Workers In Construction Industry

With the development of the social productivity,people gradually have been liberated from the heavy labor and had plenty of leisure time.The increase of leisure time made people pay more attention to leisure.Recently,academic circles have done some researches about different people's leisure life which contains students,employees of enterprises,farmers and peasant-workers.This passage focus on female workers in the construction industry.Their leisure life status is significantly different from male who have engaged in construction or some occupations because of occupation genre and gender.Thus,it is necessary for us to pay attention to female who works in the construction industry.Improving their leisure life quality will not only benefit their physical and mental health but also benefit social fairness and stability.This study mainly based on Maslow's hierarchy of needs and gender theory and used questionnaire survey,depth interview and participatory observation to collect data to survey female workers' leisure time,leisure activities and leisure experience who work in R construction site in Kunming city and analyze the current situation of female's leisure life and the difficulties they are facing as well as dig out the restraining factors for these female workers.Through the research,we found that the leisure time of female workers in R construction site is less and unstable.They do not have enough things to do and they tend to have amusement leisure activities with not so much improvement leisure activities.Most of them choose indoor activities and lack of outdoor activities.Satisfaction with leisure life is high,but there is a passive and helpless experience.The factors that may affect their leisure time quality mainly because of their environment,entertain resources,income,recognize of leisure,age,educational level and social interaction.Therefore,the author understands the problems and needs of the research object to carry out social work professional services,Try to use empowerment theory to figure out a good way to improve their leisure life and help them develop themselves.Try to summarize experiences,find deficiency and try to provide reference for social work involvement.
