| A person who formed the good habit of reading is a free and happy one,and good reading habits develop from childhood extensive extracurricular reading.The elementary school higher grades students are in the "reading" period,and need a lot of reading to facilitate the growth and development of their own.At the same time,the scholars consider this stage as "reading crisis".The reason is that at this stage children choose books blindly,and trend to accept the influence of bad books.For rural elementary school higher grades students,a large number of books to meet the "rich reading period" may not be guaranteed and necessary guidance for smoothly through the "reading crisis" might be missing.So,this research will focus on rural elementary school higher grades students’extracurricular reading situation,trying to make a comprehensive perspective.Through a questionnaire this study investigates the five and six grades students’ extracurricular reading situation of S primary school in Longhui county and deeply interviews the teachers and parents.From the point of survey and the interview,extracurricular reading Problems in rural elementary school higher grades students are,reading resource mismanagement and poor reading environment,school library and peasant bookstore underutilized;lacking of interest in extracurricular reading,preference to watching TV or playing games;the conflict of recreational and utility of extracurricular reading;the disagreements of children’s interests and requirements of parents and teachers;bad habits of extracurricular reading;time lacking of extracurricular reading;oneness and blindness of extracurricular reading selection;Insufficient recognition of parents and teachers,failing to guide and so on.This paper analyzes systematically from four aspects,students,families,schools and socials,combining reading environmentalism and reading cycle theory.In the aspect of students themselves,there are the limitation of cognitive development and being "left behind" awkward.In the aspect of family environment,the deviation of values,the limitation of the education level,improper intervention and so on,these problems exist universally.At the school level,they do not attach great importance to extracurricular reading,and books management system is not perfect,at the same time teachers’ guidance is not enough.In terms of social environment,there are also many problems,such as the conditionality of economic development level,weak rural culture and the misleading guidance of public opinion,and the abnormal working of farm house.Through the above analysis,combining the rational thinking of reading cognitive features and the senior students’ reading characteristics,suggestions from four aspects in this paper are proposed to improve the rural elementary school higher grades students’extracurricular reading status.Firstly,schools should play a leading role.Secondly,families should strengthen the auxiliary power.Thirdly,society should enhance the cohesion.Finally,students should carry forward the Independent initiative. |
