Problems And Countermeasures Of Primary School Students Extracurricular Reading In Senior Grades

In the process of quality-oriented education reform,the cultivation of students' ability of extracurricular reading also has begun to dram widespread concern in educational circles.In teaching of language and literature,extracurricular reading has become a part of important courses and also an essential approach to practice in study of courses of language and literature.?Standard of Chinese Course in Compulsory Education? put up specific requirements for extracurricular reading of students,“They should own ability of independent reading,abundant accumulation and good sense of language.They should also learn to use virous ways of reading,have the capacity of understanding and appreciating literatures,accept edification of lofty sentiment and interest,develop personality and enrich their own spiritual world.” However,situations in actual extracurricular reading of primary students were not satisfactory.There are still many problems such as shortage of time spent in extracurricular reading and clear purposiveness.Therefore,how to analyze fundamental cause aiming at problems in students' read and put up specific feasible countermeasures is particularly important.In this study,investigation and research of situation extracurricular reading of Primary School T in Harbin was carried out adhere to research ideas of on-site investigation,problem analysis and countermeasures proposing.This article is classified into 4 parts.The first part was introduction,which elaborated research background,research objective and meaning,research a review of domestic and foreign studies,research contents and methods,and defined related conception of reading.The second part was investigation on present situation about extracurricular reading in Primary School T in Harbin.Combining questionnaire and interview,investigation and research were carried out throughout six dimensions part-time attitude,custom,time and amount,contents and access,ways,and circumstance and directions.The third part was analysis on problems and causes in extracurricular reading.It was found through investigation that there existed four problems in extracurricular reading of senior pupils including indefinite purpose,shortage of reading time,shortage of professional direction on reading ways and thin atmosphere.Causes for the problems above were analyzed from society,school,family and themselves.The forth part was strategy to optimize extracurricular reading of primary students.Aiming at existent problems,five countermeasures were put up.Firstly,raising awareness of importance of extracurricular reading;secondly,guaranteeing time of extracurricular reading;thirdly,improving direction for ways of extracurricular reading;fourthly,creating excellent reading environment;and fifthly,promote effective cooperation between society,family and school,consummating evaluation system of extracurricular reading.
