This paper takes deaf students as the research object.There are not enough academic study on the written language of deaf students at present.though quite a few scholars have done some studies,the overall development is not fast.There is still a lot to discuss.There is no language corpus for deaf students' written language currently.The collection and analysis of deaf students' written language in this study,will contribute to the construction of the deaf students' written language corpus.This paper involves a field test in a special education schools in Yuxi city Yunnan province,collected a large number of deaf students'composition.Combining the theory of communicative competence of Hymes and practical observation,this paper designs a test of deaf students' reading ability of written language,and tries to find the reasons that affect the ability of deaf students' written language with a questionnaire.Deaf students are divided into four grades as A,B,C,D based on the test results.Influences includes the basic situation,the language attitude,learning methods,teaching material attitude,sign language learning and the use of written language and sign language.Survey found the attitude of D written language ability of deaf students to written language learning is fear,and they don't take part in class study well.Most of the deaf students have a favorable to now use the teaching material but still hope there are more professional teaching books for themselves.The vast majority of deaf students' family members do not understand sign language,even if a faculty who has hearing disability,also can not use sign language to communicate.Deaf students mainly use sign language to communicate at school,in other social occasions intending to use written language.Combined with the results of the survey,it's necessary to make deaf students like written language.Establish efficient classroom.Create simulated communicative classroom.School should organize Chinese teaching auxiliary materials with sign language.It's great important to learn the standardable sign language to improve the ability of deaf students' written language.
