Left behind children is a special group of social transformation in our country.They get more and more attention from the community with the increasing scale.Now the first generation of left behind children have grown up,left behind experience has a long-term significance for individual development.Whether they can adapt to society or not will have a significant impact on their survival and development.However,there is little research on the social adaptation of left behind adults.And the researches at present has two deficiencies.First,the subjects were not in a real adaptation environment.Second,the subjects were measured only once.The enrollment adaptation of college freshmen can provide the real situation for the study of the social adaptation of the adult left behind.Therefore,this study use the longitudinal study design to investigate the influence of left behind experience on adult social adaptation in adaptive stage of college freshmen.In this study,a total of 840 freshmen from a university were investigated by questionnaire.There are 240 left behind college students and 572 non left behind students.In order to exclude the impact of family economic status and the level of parental education on the results of the study,this study compared 240 left behind college students to select the similar college students who have no left behind experience.At second months and fourth months,the adjustment of the enrollment of the selected 520 freshmen was traced.The results show that left behind College Students' adjustment is worse than the non left behind College students in terms of academic adjustment in the beginning.But in the end,there is no difference.In terms of interpersonal adjustment,left behind College Students' adjustment is worse than the non left behind College students in the beginning.But in the end,there is no difference.In terms of professional identity,the professional identity level of left behind college students is always lower than that of no left behind college students.In terms of personal-emotional adjustment,there is no difference in the left behind College students and non left behind College students.All in all,left behind CollegeStudents' enrollment adaptation is worse than the non left behind College students in the beginning.But in the end,they were little different.
