Research On Changes In Intermarriage Circle Of Huayao Dai In Gasa Town Xinping County

As an important part of national culture,marriage contains the national values,ways of thinking,aesthetic taste,moral system,religious beliefs and national psychology and other aspects.Intermarriage circle,to some degree,is a social circle based on the different marital relations.Marriage circle is featured by social culture characteristics and enriched with diverse social and cultural connotations,which is beyond individuals and family.The evolution of the marriage circle is not only a direct reflection of that of a ethnic group and family,but also the reflection and miniature of social development and change.Historically,Huayao Dai---the main branch of Dai who have been living in the Yuanjiang River area have been maintaining a traditional marriage system--endogamous marriage system.Since the founding of the PRC,the tradition of endogamous marriage has been abandoned gradually.Especially,it has been through great changes since 1980s,with the impact of the market economy.The change of social life,the disintegration of rural collective production system,the transformation of family structure,the popularization of mass media and the prevailing of multiculturalism,have given the young in Huayao Dai village a greater consciousness and initiative from the marriage perspective.In addition,social development has been creating more opportunities for Huayao Dai youth to pursue themselves and express themselves.However,the competition mechanism in marriage market and Huayao Dai traditional culture habitus and other factors,to some extent,also makes the youth fall into a dilemma of finding the life partner.This paper mainly studies and analyzes changes of the marriage circle since the Reform and Opening-up,which is based on the fact in the Gasa Town,Yuxi City,Xinping Yizu Daizu Autonomous County,Yunnan Province.Besides,the paper reveals great changes in the marriage culture hidden under the social changes,and reflects on the internal impetus and deep mechanism.And finally it reflects on anthropological interpretation from the perspective of social development by means of records of the status quo from the young among Huayao Dai.These purposes and facts can help me have a better understanding on Huayao Dai's marriage and marriage culture which was in the social transition period.As a research in the field of cultural anthropology,this paper mainly adopts fieldwork method,with the Betelnut Garden,Ying Zhai and Ping Zhai(the branch village in Huayao Dai)as the subjects,in exploration of marriage changes in the 1980s,aiming at exploring the influence of national development and social change on marriage and family.In addition,the paper hopes to have a deep reflection on the relation between nation and local,history and reality through the view of cognition the current situation of Huayao Dai's existence by state presence.
