Through the archives, the sample survey and the statistical analysis, this paper finds that with the large-scale expansion of higher education, the difference in the number of the chances of access to higher education in Fujian Province tends to decreasing. In different types of colleges and universities, the chances of access to the higher education of male and female students is different. In the major and the ordinary undergraduate colleges, the difference in the chances of access between male and female students shows a tendency to increase first and then decrease. However,in the specialized colleges, the difference of the chances of access between the male and female students is narrowing. In recent years, there have been a phenomenon that the female access to the higher education is more than the male, especially in the major and ordinary undergraduate colleges.Regardless of the urban or the rural area, the sex difference in accessing to the higher education is gradually shifting from the dominant difference in choosing different colleges to the hidden difference in choosing different majors. That the female gets more chances of access to the higher education which often focuses on fundamental, unpopular or low fees majors. This phenomenon is particularly evident in the ordinary colleges and professional institutions.According to the findings, this paper suggests that some strategies can promote equalization of the chances of access to higher education among different sexes in Fujian Province, such as putting sex awareness into the social decision-making to promote harmonious both sexes;narrowing urban and rural economic gap to improve the female education quality;building a new sex culture to correct "men and women are different" concept;perfecting the social security system to focus on people's livelihood;Improving the quality of high school education to reform the examination-oriented education;strengthening the Improvement of educational quality in ordinary universities;building higher-quality vocational colleges and so on.
