A Comparative Study On The Middle School Physics Textbooks Of SSTP&GEP Version And ESP Version

In the stage of compulsory education,physics in middle school plays an indispensable role in cultivation of students’ scientific literacy.During the process of teaching,textbooks are necessary resources for teachers,and also the main tool for students to learn physical knowledge.A good textbook will not only effectively improve the efficiency of classroom teaching,but also promote the teaching level of teachers and the physical knowledge level of students.The research objects are two series of midle school physics textbooks.One is Shanghai Science & Technical Press and Guangdong Education Press(SSTP&GEP)version,the other is Education Science Press(ESP)version.They are both approved by the Ministry of Education in 2012.The thesis using literature research method,contents analysis method and comparative research method.Analyzing from the following angles:(1)Studying the whole layout and section numbers from the knowledge structure system to find whether the allocation of knowledge module is reasonable.Furthermore,whether the two version textbooks are take the thinking characteristics of the students into account;(2)From the layout design,the column setting,the chart,the difficulty of the exercise type and so on,and compare the presentation mode of the two editions;(3)Taking the content of Pressure as an example,the difficulty model of the textbook in the two editions is analyzed by using the course difficulty model of professor Shi NingZhong.Through careful analysis:(1)As a whole,the two version of the textbooks has taken into account the change of students’ thinking from the image thinking level to the abstract thinking level,but the ESP version pays more attention to the students’ thinking characteristics than the SSTP&GEP version;(2)The two version of the textbook pays more attention to the integration of the knowledge inside and outside the class and its own characteristics,and the layout is unique;(3)Two versions of textbooks and exercises coincide with the concept of physical core literacy.Exercises of the SSTP&GEP textbook is grasping the basic knowledge,the problems in the situation of life,so that the physical knowledge is better applied to real life,to learn and use well.The textbooks of junior middle school are creative and developing,and the application of knowledge is pushed to a higher stage;(4)In the distribution of columns,the ESP version is more abundant than the SSTP&GEP version;(5)In thenumber of pictures,the ESP version is more than the SSTP&GEP version,the number of forms is equal;(6)In the pressure part,the difficulty of the textbook knowledge of the SSTP&GEP version is lower than that of the ESP version;(7)The distribution of the ESP version is more in line with the students’ learning thinking in the distribution of each chapter.According to the Compulsory Education Curriculum Standards,it is found that the two edition of the textbook can be found that there is still the following workable space in the compilation and improvement:(1)It should be more conducive to the promotion of individualized education;(2)The arrangement of teaching materials should be beneficial to the common use of teachers and students;(3)Pay more attention to the embodiment of scientific ideas and methods.The thesis finds the following principles to choose textbooks:(1)Whether it is beneficial to the learning of students;(2)Whether it is beneficial to the teaching of teachers;(3)Whether it is beneficial to the personalized development of students.
