Textbooks are the carrier to realize the teaching goals and the level of the textbooks directly affect the realization of the teaching goals. The changing of the course construction of the elementary education draw the people's attention especially the selected textbooks (Chinese) for senior middle school students for the 8th elementary education reform of our country. Altogether there are 5 presses have published the selected textbooks (Chinese) for senior middle school students under the leading of the new course standard (Chinese) for the normal senior middle school, whose construction and styles are different. The textbook authorized by people's education press stands for the traditional style, but those written for Guangdong province show the character of Ling Nan on the base of the local character. I will discuss the different characters of these two different textbooks by means of comparing them from these four points:sample article,leading par,knowledge and homework.The thesis can be divided into 3 parts.Part 1I will introduce the background,objects,methods and significance of the thesis in the 1st part, which are analyzed by means of comparing these two selected textbooks (poem and prose) under the new course reform condition. The mainly used methods in this essay are studying the others' research and analyzing the practical example and comparing research method. And make the reader understand the importance of studying the teaching method for the textbook creation and the teaching activity in the class.Part 2It is the main body of the thesis. It includes 4 parts.Chapter one is concern about the goals of the course from the angle of the relationship between the compulsory course and the selected course. Any textbook is under a kind of construction, so I will analyze the goals for the new course standard of the Poem and Prose and this is the most important question to study a textbook. The 2nd chapter based on the theory of textbook creation, poems and prose, makes the concept of the Chinese textbooks, the construction of the textbook and the other related theory clear. At the same time, i will illustrate the position of the poem and prose in the whole textbook system and make the readers understand this part is a necessary one and cannot be omitted and be an important way to form the students' virtue and the quality of Chinese.The 3rd chapter includes 3 parts. The first two parts will get into the textbooks and analyze all of them deeply especially the poem and prose in the selected textbooks and scan the whole system to find out each one's construction, character, advantage and creation. The 3rd part will compare these two teaching methods and illustrate the theory base for comparing. At the same time, I will conclude the same character and their own character of these two teaching methods and find out the shortcoming appeared in these two teaching methods.The last chapter is based on the construction of the selected teaching methods and giving out some advice for textbook creation. The authors think those 3 important points. Firstly, we should make the character of teaching for the senior middle school, the difficulty level of the selected teaching material clear and create the proper textbook fit for the senior middle school students. Secondly, make the teaching goals clear, and it is different from the selected course in the university and the compulsory course. It has its own character. Finally, we should develop the students' appreciation ability, deal with the relationship between Chinese knowledge and ability and improve the students' quality and appreciation ability.The character of this thesis is as the followings:Firstly, research on the selected course is rare. Most of the research is on the usage of the selected course. But it is not easy to find out the analysis and illustration of the textbook. So it is the character of this thesis.Secondly, compare these two teaching methods and get into the spirit of the teaching material up to the contents of each passage. The author does the research based on practical example and figures.
