OBJECTIVE:To detect the changes of neurotransmitters and related hormones in serum caused by yoga practice, and to provide theoretical support for yoga fitness from the physiological point of view. Methods:Nine subjects took a semester-based Hatha yoga asana until they were able to master the practice. One month after stop training,a 75-minute yoga class exercise was conducted to monitor the heart rate of the subjects throughout the course of the exercise.ELISA was also performed to detect changes of neurotransmitters and related hormone concentrations in the serum immediately before and after the exercise. Results:During the practice, the average heart rate was 99 beats/min,the maximum heart rate was 144.8 beats/min,and low-intensity exercise accounted for 56%of the total exercise.Serum concentrations of 5-HT(P<0.05),NPY(P<0.01)and COR concentrations(P<0.01)were significantly higher in subjects than those before yoga practice 0.01)were significantly lower.CONCLUSIONS:Yoga practice can make subjects regulate the secretion of neurotransmitters and related hormones under the condition of low exercise intensity, which not only produces a certain sense of pleasure, but also can regulate immunity and restrain body fatigue.Promote the recovery of bodily functions and achieve the effect of promoting physical and mental health.
