The personal character and social course is opened in the elementary school higher grades aims to guide students to establish correct outlook on life,world outlook and good social adaptability,is an important part of moral education courses.Due to the southern Xinjiang is a multi-ethnic,multi-cultural co-exist,the character and the social of all nationalities in classroom teaching to become positive guide children to develop good social moral accomplishment,five identity consciousness and community awareness of the main channel of the Chinese nation,to achieve social stability and security in Xinjiang overall goal main land.Morality and Society is a course set up in senior grades of primary schools aimed to guide the students to establish the right view of life and world outlook and well adapt to the society.It is an important part of moral education.As South Xinjiang is inhabited by people of multiple ethnic groups and cultures,the Morality and Society course is the main channel to guide the children of different ethnic groups to form good moral character,the awareness of "five recognitions",and the sense of the community of the Chinese nation.It is the main front for achieving the general goal of social stability and lasting peace in Xinjiang.First,we collected relevant literature according to the method of bibliographical research,generalized and summarized them,and explained the value of studying the Morality and Society course in primary schools of South Xinjiang.Second,we surveyed the current status of moral education at primary school N in the city of K through questionnaires,interviews and class observations.Third,we put forth the problems and reasons thereof.The survey revealed the following main problems in the Morality and Society course in primary schools of South Xinjiang.Contents of the course are too distant from the students' life,teaching methods are limited,resources for moral education are insufficient,and the form of teaching is old.The teachers' professional level has to be raised,and the main causes for the problems are insufficient development and utilization of moral education resources and the confinement of teaching to the classroom.At last,we put forth the suggestions and countermeasures.(1)The teaching contents should be about students' life.(2)Schools should intensify the training for teachers.(3)Teachers and students should develop moral education resources in schools.(4)Schools should create openness organizational forms of moral education.
