Idea of Comprehensively Deepening the Curriculum Reform and Making the Basis Task of Strengthening Moral Education and Cultivating People Practicable was issued by ministry of education on March 20,2014,and the concept of "core competences system" was put forward.Mathematics Curriculum Standards for Normal Senior High School(2017)puts forward six mathematics core competences.The abstract mathematics competence is one of the six core competences.The study studies the mathematics abstract competence of senior high school,and adopts the methods of literature research,questionnaire survey and interview.The appraisal standard framework of mathematics abstract competence is built.And the questionnaire of mathematics abstract competence,mathematics abstract test and mathematics abstract competence interview outline are used to study the teachers and students of a senior high school in Baoji,Shanxi province.The study is about the current situation of mathematics abstract competence in senior high schools.It also puts forward the strategies of promoting students' mathematics abstract competence in senior high schools,which is of great importance to the mathematics abstract competence of senior high school students.Through the research of questionnaire,it is found that there are many shortcomings in the cultivation of mathematics abstract competence in senior high school mathematics teaching,and they are as follows:(1)senior high school students have weak logical thinking ability in mathematics learning;(2)senior high school students lack the habit of summarizing;(3)the application consciousness of mathematics in life is weak among senior high school student;(4)there is a lack of reading comprehension ability of senior high school students;(5)senior high school students lack confidence and have poor self-efficacy.The results of the test are as follows: senior high school students have low mathematics abstract competence;there is a significant difference in students' mathematics abstract competence of senior high school among different grades,andand there is no significant difference between the level of mathematics abstract competence of senior high school students' gender.The results of teachers and students' interviews are as follows: students' ability of abstract mathematic problems from the context is weak;students are lack of mathematical language expression ability;some students have careless learning attitude.Based on the investigation and research on the current situation of mathematics abstract competence of senior high school students,the study puts forward some strategies and suggestions for improving the mathematics abstract quality of high school students.The strategies for improving the abstract mathematic competence of senior high school students are as follows:(1)guide students to think actively and exercise their abstract thinking;(2)strengthen knowledge application and improve mathematical modeling ability;(3)strengthen the reading comprehension and language expression ability of senior high school students in mathematics;(4)gradually establish students' confidence in learning mathematics;(5)develop the habit of summarizing and sorting out mathematical knowledge.Some suggestion for cultivating the abstract mathematics competence of senior high school students are as follows:(1)teachers pay attention to the typical cases of the application of mathematics in life;(2)improve teachers' learning ability and innovation ability;(3)appropriately increase the mathematical stories in classroom teaching;(4)appropriate organize mathematical games and other activities.
