With the continuous innovation,rapid development of Internet technology and digital media technology,the dissemination of information and ideas has adopted many forms ranging in text,pictures,live streaming and videos streaming,we have entered into the era of information explosion exiting the lack of information era.However,new media is bringing new information to the audiences,such as real-time dissemination,extensive and fast sharing of information which also causes information overload,false information and negative information flooding the internet.How to deal with these problems,we need to cultivate audience's purpose to contact information,acquire information accurately and efficiently along with improving the audience's new media literacy level,since it has become a pressing problem in the current network media environment.In the current complex environment of new media,literacy is one of the essential basic qualities of citizens.With the development of Internet technology,we have already entered the two micro ends.As a representative of the new media era,we are flooded at every hour and moment with information ocean,it is important to cultivate the understanding ability of choice,citizens of the new media shall have the ability of information query,evaluation ability as well as creative,manufacturing and speculative reaction ability as an imminent objective.One of the major users of new media are the college students who grew up in the era of new media development.Their features in the new media era,the use of new media capabilities of their activities in the new media environment has certain representations and reference to our study of new media literacy this problem.And college students as an advanced group with relatively high level of education and relatively high level of knowledge in culture,should have higher level of new media literacy.This paper is mainly composed through the method of literature analysis,questionnaires,interviews and other new media literacy levels to explore the current domestic students,plans from the basic cognition,seeking truth ability,analysis ability,new media skills,moral cognition,legal cognition,the ability to use new media literacy,critical thinking,the eight aspects of comprehensive analysis of literacy and the level of college students in new media and new media as a whole by comparing the domestic and international education development levels,analyzing the performance of the college students in China in the new media environment to prove the necessity and possibility of developing new media literacy education in our country,and puts forward specific measures to improve the level of college students in the new media literacy should be taken.
