In the era of media products expanding, audience’s media literacy level needsto be improved. With the advent of the era of the small audience age, media’sinfluence on teenagers is more and more big, especially for primary schoolstudents. Cause they are at the stage of constructing cognitive thinking, with strongcuriosity and thirst for knowledge, willing to accept new things. But faced with thecomplicated media information, they don’t have mature screening ability, thus forthe cultivation of critical thinking ability is especially important for elementaryschool.In the information age, just came up out of the use of the media to improvestudents’ media literacy has already can’t satisfy the requirements of the time. whenthe pupils can reasonably select the media, identify the authenticity of a mediainformation, independently think in the media, and make independent decision,they will healthily and effectively participate in social life. Media literacyeducation development in our country is still at the experimental stage, there is nodetailed teaching mode to guide teaching. According to foreign media literacyteaching mode and the problems existing in the media literacy education at homeand abroad, this paper has research on elementary school media literacy educationin the teaching model of cultivating the ability of critical thinking, aims to cultivatestudents critical thinking ability, for the development of media literacy educationin China operability paradigm.This study based on the Ministry of education humanities and social sciencefund project "Based on the citizen education horizon of the media literacyeducation curriculum system construction and the practice research"(Projectnumber:11YJA880011), discussing the basic education for primary schoolstudents in separate courses in the media literacy, in order to cultivate the criticalthinking ability of students.This paper includes the following several parts: Chapter1: Research on theprimary practice of media literacy education at home and abroad. Chapter2andChapter3: Defining the theoretical basis and relevant concepts, and makingin-depth discussion on promoting the teaching model of cultivating the ability ofcritical thinking, from the teaching mode of teaching content, target, process,teaching strategies and other aspects. Chapter4: By defining the relationshipbetween critical thinking and primary school media literacy, sorts out the goal ofmedia literacy teaching in primary schools, and critical thinking ability of fivedimensions on the classification. Based on the five kinds of ability’s target tosummary primary school media literacy textbooks reflecting the teaching contentof the five kinds of ability goal. Through comparative analysis, this paper discussesmedia literacy education for elementary school teaching model of cultivating theability of critical thinking. Chapter5: Through the application of case analysis,with reference to the above research, the selection of primary school lower gradefor the teaching objects, including the examples of video and idols programs to train students of higher order thinking, critical thinking as the goal, applyingvarious forms to cognitive tools, the teaching of the course design, completes themedia literacy education in primary schools of cultivating the ability of criticalthinking, and try to media literacy education for the primary school provides thereference for the practice teaching of higher order thinking ability training andreference.
