The method of process teaching advocates teachers should implement teaching design and evaluation based on learners' cognitive level and this efficient method has gained considerable attention from educational researchers.It is well known that teaching design is highly correlated with the quality and efficiency of teaching activities as well as the cognitive level of learners.Based on the thinking and response level to evaluate the development of learners,SOLO classification evaluation theory underscores the quantitative as well as the qualitative change of knowledge.It describes the series of actions of mind in the process of finishing tasks,thus,it provides strong evidence for efficient teaching design.In this paper,based on the theory of SOLO classification evaluation,the author intended to analyze the reasons of learners' difficulties as well as confusion in the learning,optimize the design of the teaching process and improve the quality of teaching.Therefore,the research process of this paper is roughly divided into the following three steps:The first part: According to the problems existing in the teaching of conic curves in teaching practice,consult the relevant literature to determine the research issues and significance of this article.The second part introduces the basic connotation of SOLO classification evaluation theory,and the application of the theory in teaching applications.It also defines the definition of teaching design in this paper.In the third part,the ellipse's learning results are firstly evaluated,and the students' problems in conical curve learning are analyzed.Then the parabola teaching design is carried out.Through the evaluation method and teacher interviews,the application of this theory in teaching is analyzed.In a word,it is found that SOLO classification evaluation theory is helpful for teachers to evaluate students thinking level scientifically,to arrange teaching activities reasonably,to provide theoretical foundation for improving teaching activities,to have a clear understanding of the gap between the teaching targets and the knowledge mastered by students,and find the joint points for further teaching design.Therefore,the application SOLO classification evaluation theory plays an significant role in guiding high school mathematics teaching design.
