Parental rejection is a type of parenting behavior carried out by parents in the family.It mainly means that parents lack the positive affectionate expression of their children,and have emotional and physical harm to their children.Such as parental neglect,rejection,and denial of a series of negative parenting behaviors(Rohner,2005).Parental rejection not only has a negative impact on the children's academic performance,but also has a significant predictive effect on academic self-concept.In order to clarify the relationship between the above three,this article will further explore the role of academic self-concept in the perception of high school students' parental refusal and academic achievement.In this study,Parenting style evaluation scale(EMBU)on factors of denial were extracted.At the same time,the academic self-concept part,as well as the midterm and final examination grades of literature and mathematics for senior secondary students of the self-description questionnaire(SDQII)revised by Chen Guopeng were applied.600 students of two groups in Zhengzhou and Anyang were group tested.SPSS 20.0 was used to process the data,and descriptive statistics,independent sample t-test,correlation analysis,regression analysis,and other related statistical methods were carry out.The results of our study show that:(1)There is a significant difference between the high school students' perceptions of parental rejection from mother and father,the mother's rejection is significantly higher than the father's rejection.High school students' perceptions of parental rejection have significant differences in gender and no significant difference in whether they are the only child and the place of birth.(2)High school students generally have a high academic self-concept level.According to the analytic results of the characteristics of demographic variables of the population,high school students showsignificant gender differences in academic self-concept on mathematics and academic self-concept on literature;There is a significant difference in whether the self-concept of mathematics is unique to children,and there are significant differences in the self-concept between the general academic self-concept and the self-concept of the literary profession.(3)High school students' perception of mother's refusal can have a significant predict not only on the academic performance,but also on academic self-concept.(4)The academic self-concept can play a complete mediating role between mother's refusal and academic achievement.
