As the origin of modern swimming,British has a profound cultural heritage in the national swimming.Swimming,will be regarded as will be the sports life,this is not only because of the swimming fitness effect,but also because swimming involves in water safety knowledge,and students need to know how to face dangers and how to solve them.Swimming is also compulsory in primary schools in the UK.Therefore,this paper compares the Chinese and English swimming course teaching,and hope that the successful development of the British sports standards could improve our swimming course teaching.This paper mainly studies the characteristics of children's physiological and psychological development,and draws on the contents of the Learn to swim framework introduced by the Amateur Swimming Association(ASA)in the UK.Combining with the 35 major swimming coaches of 18 major provinces and autonomous regions in China.This paper summarized the similarities and differences between the two countries' beginners swimming curriculum standards.Through the literature,field interview,observation,comparative study,expert interview and mathematical statistics,the paper aims to compare Chinese and British swimming beginners' teaching standards and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the Department.Meanwhile,providing recommendations for the Chinese swimming school teaching and improving the swimming beginner teaching norms.Concluded as follow:1.Chinese and English children's swimming curriculum goals are different.China takes swimming posture learning as a breakthrough point and gradually interspersed with water skills.The advantage of this setting is that it can master stroke quickly and improve students' self-confidence,but the shortcoming is that the skills in water are not well mastered.2.The differences of the swimming teaching hours and the numbers between Chinese and English.The teaching hours are short in each English course.They advocate no stress study.The coach ask questions,then the students discuss and practice.So the course process is slow,and no homework after class.China has a long time in the single course,and have a strong effect on physical.The summer class has a heavy pressure in study,and the pressure of the long training class is light.The main exercise is stroke work.Students complete the homework after class,and consolidate the content of the class.3.the UK is based on a perfect 7 stage swimming program,which is suitable for coaches and parents.In British public cognition,swimming is a skill that must be mastered in daily life,so that children can insist on long term swimming and lifelong swimming.The popularity of swimming in China is steadily increasing,but it is not as good as Britain.There are no unified standards for teaching in different parts of the country.They accord to the teaching methods used by the clubs of various provinces and cities.So the teaching methods are not unified all over the country.4.China and Britain share basically the same proportion of trainees and trainers.The longest working hours of Chinese coaches are 50% longer than that of British coaches,and the pressure of coaches is very high,which has a negative effect on the quality of swimming courses.There are many kinds of teaching equipment and equipment in Britain,which is worth learning from China.
