"Scientific inquiry" has become an important breakthrough in the reform of curricula in all countries and "Improving the scientific literacy of all citizens" has become the ultimate goal of global science education with the transformation of the global goal of science education.But Scientific literacy is the combination of scientific knowledge,scientific thinking,scientific attitude and scientific process skills,Training scientific process skills is to improve students' scientific literacy in subject education."Scientific inquiry" has always been a research hotspot in education,most researchers tend to choose the teaching and learning of inquiry or choose the complex and comprehensive ability of scientific inquiry capabilities to conduct research.However,the scientific process skills,which are the components of scientific inquiry ability,are rarely studied separately.There is also a lack of effective ways to develop students' scientific process skills.At present,some teachers in our country do not know which core elements of the science process skills students should improve in the junior high school,and no clear training plan.Under this background,this paper puts forward this core question:(1)How to determine the key elements of Scientific Process Skills which should focus on training for Students in Junior Middle School,(2)How to design teaching to dvelop students' Scientific Process Skills,(3)How to effectively evaluate students' scientific process skills.This study uses text analysis to analyze the junior high school biology curriculum standards in China,the international three major evaluation projects TIMSS,NAEP,PISA assessment framework,statistic the scientific process skills involved in inquiry activities in the junior high school biology textbook,summarize the core elements of the three scientific process skills "Asking questions,Designing plan,Applying evidence to draw conclusions" for the students to be trained in junior high school to provide a reference for teachers in cultivating the orientation of students' scientific process skills.Developing a training plan for the core elements of three scientific process skills: selects simple,easy-to-operate and interesting inquiry activities "Exploring the causes of peanut fruit size variation" "Exploring the body color of animals is good for their survival" in the junior high school biology textbook,then writes instructional design based on SPADP Teaching Model,experiment method is used to carry out intervention teaching under the support of SPADP teaching structure program,and learn from international assessment project PISA's scientific process skills test question bank,screens biological sample questions,retains the three scientific process skills related to this study,forms a test volume that consists of 6 topics and 17 topic combinations,uses test papers to evaluate students' Scientific Process Skill levels.The experimental results are as follows:(1)There is a significant difference in the skill level of the overall " Asking questions " process between experimental class and control class students,the overall level of experimental class is higher than the control class,but the experimental class is at the bottom of the " Asking questions " level;(2)For the "designing plan(identify,control variables)" process skill level,there is a very significant difference between the experimental class and the control class,the overall level of the experimental class students is significantly higher than that of the control class.,however,the experimental class is at the bottom of the "designing plan(identify,control variables)" level;(3)Although there is a very significant difference in the overall skill level of the “Applying evidence to draw conclusions” between the experimental class and the control class students,the level of the experimental class is low.The results show that with the support of the SPADP teaching model,we can carry out simple and interesting inquiry activities for a long time to effectively train students' scientific process skills,the use of an effective international assessment method can accurately grasp the scientific process skills of students.It provides basic teaching methods for teachers to train and evaluate students' scientific process skills.
