With the wide application of mathematics in technological development and real life.It becomes a hot topic to improve the students’mathematical literacy in the field of world-wide study on mathematical teaching. The programme for International Student Assessment PISA planned and organized by Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is one of the most influential international student learning assessment items in the world. The main purpose of the math test in PISA is to examine students’ability to transform practical problem into mathematical problem in specific situations.Through reading a large number of literatures, I find the researches for PISA are most focused on the introduction of theoretical results and the analysis on the results of the test in the domestic and overseas. There are few article of studying PISA on discipline teaching of mathematics. Therefore, I tease out the research achievements about math literacy of PISA at home and abroad through the methods of literature review and test investigation. At the same time, I discuss the concepts, frameworks and research methods of math literacy test. Secondly, I take the test investigation on the mathematics literacy of junior students through the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the subject of coding, charts, statistics and sample analysis on the collected data. Lastly, I take the questionnaire survey on the effect factors of students’ mathematical literacy through the correlation inspection between factors and t-test of independent sample. It aims to multi-angle analysis of the actual situation of junior students’maths literacy and its possible causes. Meanwhile we can propose the teaching measures to improve students’ math literacy by way of learning from advanced education idea and the way of evaluation in maths test of PISA.Through the analysis of math test we know that junior students pay more attention to the conventional application of mathematical knowledge and ignore its application in everyday life. They pay more attention to the learning of mathematics knowledge and ignore the cultivation of their ability. They focus on the problem solving and neglect of math awareness and self construction. Questionnaire statistics show that the relationship between teachers and students, teaching methods, mathematics reading, self-efficacy, mathematical experience all have significant effects on maths literacy. They have significant differences between boys and girls except math reading, it shows that there are gender differences in factors of math literacy. On the basis, the teaching measures are presented:Teachers have rich knowledge in teaching as much as possible, the discipline course content should be integrated, teaching methods must be flexible, evaluation methods should be diversified.
