The representation methods of physical problems include literal representation,formula representation,and image representation.The physical image method can be used to characterize complex physical processes or physical laws into physical images,which is widely used to present physical laws,physical processes,physical states and the laws of physical changes visually and vividly by means of mathematical graphs.And this method is an ingenious combination of mathematics and physics.Unfortunately,many teachers are unaware of the importance of the physical images and do not train their students specifically.Although some teachers have already realized the importance of the images,they have not conducted any further theoretical research on the application of this method to make it serve the physics teaching more systematically and profoundly.At present,the research on the physical image method mainly focuses on the characteristics of the physical image and the advantages of the image method.Besides,some basic elements of the physical image are also noticed by some researchers,but there are few studies on the problems in the application of the image method.In this paper,the concept of physical image method is defined through literature research,and the function of image method in high school physics teaching is discussed.Based on a number of former masters’thesis questionnaires,a new questionnaire was compiled and SPSS20.0 was used to analyze the questionnaire.The analysis showed that the questionnaire had good reliability,validity and distinction.The research results show that students have a profound understanding of the important role of the physical image method in solving physical problems and learning physics knowledge,and they can acquire basic image information and have the basic ability of digging pictures.However,the students are faced with a big problem in transforming images and physical scenarios directly as well as in composing images,which is also the biggest difference between high-level students and low-level students.Specifically,boy students are better than girl students in the application of images,mainly in the use of image data processing and image composing.Finally,the author puts forward teaching suggestions for the existing problems:first,the application of image method in high school physics teaching should start from the two aspects of knowledge mapping and composition.In the aspect of map recognition,we should guide students to grasp the image features,excavate the physical meaning of the image,and pay attention to the relationship between the various physical quantities.Composition,teachers should guide students to standardize drawing,using standard symbols and words to explain,familiar with high school commonly used functions of painting and characteristics.Secondly,the application of image method should be treated with specific problems,but also vary from person to person.In the teaching process,the students should be encouraged to do more exercises in one problem,and to cultivate students’inquiry spirit and divergent thinking.Third,in the process of teaching,teachers should standardize drawing to set an example,cultivate students’ drawing habits in imperceptible,and strengthen the guidance of image teaching method,helping students establish confidence in image learning.
