Image is one of the representation methods,which has the characteristics of image and intuition.Applying image method to solve problems helps students to deeply understand the concepts and laws of physics.In the General High School Physics Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition,2020 revision),it is mentioned that "functional images should be used to describe the movement of objects and process experimental data,and the physical meaning represented by the images should be known." At the same time,more than half of the exam questions involve physical images,so it is necessary to strengthen the application of image method in exercise teaching.Firstly,the current situation of applying image method to solve problems of high school students was investigated.It was found that some students did not have the habit of standardized drawing,could not accurately convert the text in exercises into images,and could not extract valuable information from the schematic diagram.Moreover,according to the interviews with teachers,it is known that teachers give priority to using image method to solve exercises in exercise teaching,and carry out thematic teaching on related images to deepen students’ understanding of concepts and laws.Secondly,on the basis of investigation and interview,the author puts forward the application strategy of image method in high school physics exercise teaching.It is necessary to develop the habit of standardized drawing by standardizing students’ drawing,and transform original problems into physical problems by combining graph and text conversion,graph conversion and number form,so as to help students construct entity model,state model and process model,and to develop students’ thinking ability.Targeted image teaching is helpful for students to consolidate understanding of physical concepts and laws.Furthermore,based on the strategies mentioned above,three physical image teaching cases,"Kinematics Image Topic","Dynamic Balance Problem" and "Dynamic Image Problem",were designed and practiced.Teachers guides students to do standardized drawings,to improve students’ ability to transform pictures and diagrams,and to cultivate students’ ability of combining numbers with shapes,scientific thinking and modeling by teaching methods such as hierarchical setting of exercise difficulty,multiple solutions for a problem,multiple question normalization,group discussion,etc.Finally,through the questionnaire to understand the application effect of image method in high school physics exercise teaching,it is found that students have significantly improved their identification of exercise class,and hold a more positive attitude towards the application of image method to solve problems,and believe that image method can improve the efficiency of problem solving and help build physical models.
