On The Social Status Of Women In Contemporary Maghreb

The study on social status of women in Arab countries is the important component of social gender study,and it contents female study,sociology,politics,international relations and transnational study.This article analyzed the social status of women in Maghreb by using a large number of Chinese and foreign literature and within aspects of case study and comprehensive study.The social status of women has been divided into four indicators: status in family,status in education,status in work and status in political participation.And explored how did women in the Middle East and North Africa be influenced by different factors such as religious culture,politic and economy.By analyzing the case of Algeria,Morocco and Tunisia,the article found that the transition of woman's social status in the Middle East and North Africa is the outcome of development of the certain international,national and social environment.Saudi Arabia has been promoting the social reform of improving woman's social status and encouraging women to participate in politics in current days,this move may be have a far-reaching effect to the development of women in Maghreb.The improvement of woman's social status in Maghreb will fall across the new phase which worth further attention and following study.Meanwhile,under the frame of the OBOR initiative China-Arab women cooperation has become the important mechanism.The culture communications will promote the interactions between both regions.
