Children like performing by nature because they will get physical development and psychological joy from the play.And the thematic-fantasy play is an important kind of creative plays and plays a vital role in the kindergarten game-curriculum in the mainland China.However,the researcher had been discovered that teachers had many problems in supporting children's thematic-fantasy play through the document retrieval and teaching practice in recent years.Based on the discovery,the researcher adopted the action research method which would unify research and action,theory and practice,value and fact to explore the supporting strategies for the thematic-fantasy play of 4-6 years old children in the kindergarten.And in the research,the researcher is also the practitioner and reflector.The paper is mainly composed of three parts.The first part is the introduction.It mainly introduces the problem introduction and research significance which are providing practical reference for enriching theory of the thematic-fantasy play,improving teachers'ability to support the thematic-fantasy play,winding children's level of the play,and helping teachers carrying on the practical research.At the same time,this part defines the core concept of the thematic-fantasy play and distinguishes it from other related concepts,states a review of studies about the value,problem,and supporting strategies of the thematic-fantasy play,puts forward the theoretical basis which are children-centered theory and multiple intelligence theory,and comes up with the research design about adopting action research method to carry on the study,and it is the innovation point of the research as well.The second part is the main part of the paper,it gives suggestions for teachers about the content,preparations,promoting,and reflection for the thematic-fantasy play of 4-6 years old children.In the first place,teachers should employ the completed story properly by replacing the aside with characters'dialogue and behavior,and encourage children to discuss fully to generate the new content of the play.Secondly,as regard to preparations of the play,we propose that playground should be set outdoors,encourage children to do a plan about the site and design the playing scene,and provide materials of scene building which are low-structure-oriented and dressing materials,and encourage children to make game props to satisfy the needs of the play.Thirdly,we encourage children to do a plan before the play,put up with the point that teachers should support children on the basis of observation,extended forms of the play,and make the play and curriculurn promote each other together.Finally,we encourage children to reflect after the play in groups.The third part includes the research conclusion,reflection and suggestions.It discusses the way how teachers heighten the level of supporting the thematic-fantasy play and influence of teacher-child ratio and shift system on children's thematic-fantasy play and offers the proposal that changing teachers'working system and advocating children's group activities.
