Since the 1980s,with the rapid development of Chinese economy and society, the process of urbanization and industrialization has been accelerating, which has caused large-scale transfer of rural surplus labor to cities.Due to such considerations, many parents of young adults choose to leave their children in their rural hometowns.Their relatives and friends are responsible for taking care of them, while gradually form the current army of left-behind children.Rural left-behind children are in an incomplete family structure and "missing" environment. They are not well monitored and educated by their parents, and their emotional needs are difficult to satisfy, while will have a negative impact on their lives, psychology, behavior, and interpersonal relationships to some extent. Therefore, through the study of the problem of the lack of affection of left-behind children in rural areas,it is important to understand their performance and causes,to provide theoretical support for their emotional development and healthy growth, and to have the practical significance on the construction of a harmonious society. This article adopts social survey and research methods such as observation method and in-depth interview method. It conducts semi-structured interviews with 10 left-behind children and some guardians in Z village of Henan Province.By understanding the status of their life and emotional support,it was found that their lack of emotion is mainly manifested in emotional indifference, loneliness, low self-esteem,sensitivity,and behavior of the empathy network. The long-term separation of rural left-behind children from their parents must have an adverse effect on the individual's parent-child attachment.Attachment theory,as a relatively mature theory, provides a new perspective and method for studying how to cause rural left-behind children to lack of emotion. The use of attachment theory to analyze how the left-behind children's lack of emotion is caused. The study concludes:First, parents are the primary attachment objects for left-behind children.Because parent-child separation is premature and parent-child communication is insufficient, parental family roles and responsibilities are lacking, and it is difficult to establish and maintain good parent-child relationships. The study concludes:First, parents are the primary attachment objects for left-behind children.Because parent-child separation is premature and parent-child communication is insufficient, parental family roles and responsibilities are lacking, and it is difficult to establish and maintain good parent-child relationships, while will affect the emotional and interpersonal relationships of left-behind children;second,in terms of guardians The characteristics of guardianship in different generations are obvious, and the communication skills are poor,as well as the heavy and materialistic spirit. The rural left-behind children are also difficult to receive emotional care and support from secondary attachment objects;third, with the change of rural acquaintance society towards semi-acquained society, the school's emotional support for left-behind children in rural areas is gradually declining. Finally, this paper summarizes and reflects on the deficiencies of the research on emotional deficiency of left-behind children in rural areas from the micro perspective of attachment theory, and puts forward some Suggestions to solve this problem from a new perspective.
