Social Work Intervention To Improving Peer Communication Ability Of Children Of Drug Addicts

All along,the literature on the children of drug addicts is lacking.In order to fully understand and provide more help to this group,it is extremely necessary and urgent to increase the attention and research on this group.The object of this study is the children of drug addicts.Their parents all are sent to drug addiction centers for compulsory drug addiction because of smoking or using drug addiction.Absence of parental responsibilities makes this group of children a temporary child,they were referred by the police to a social assistance agency like the J agency.In this study,first,the author collects information about the children of drug addicts of J agencies,assesses the peer interaction of the children of drug addicts to use the relevant scales,and initially understands the basic characteristics of the children of drug addicts in their peer interaction skills.Then select an object Z involved in the service to specifically assess its needs.Guided by cognitive-behavioral theory and social learning theory,used the method of the case work as the main method,supplem ented by the method of the group work,and involving Z's peers' ability to communicate.Finally,assess the effectiveness of the intervention.The results show that compared with the pretest period,the three dimensions of pro-social behavior,social initiative and linguistic and non-verbal communication ability of Z have been correspondingly improved,and the degree of social barriers has been reduced.In the end,this paper proposes corresponding reflections from the following three aspects: First,the urgency of social workers' involvement in the ability of peers of children of drug addicts;Secondly,the necessity and effectiveness of interventions in combination with the case work and the group work;Finally,The importance of social work organization and school linkage.And from the three perspectives of the children of drug addicts,schools and social organizations,to provide better and more effective ways to enhance the peers' ability to communicate with children of drug addicts.
