The establishment and development of biology can not be separated from the experiment,biology teaching is also inseparable from the experimental teaching.Quality education emphasizes experimental teaching not only to cultivate students' ability of observation and operation,what is more important is to guide students to master scientific methods and form scientific attitudes and values.The reform of national basic education and teacher education has a higher demands for the teachers profession,and also poses new challenges to colleges and universities that undertake the task of cultivating biology teachers in secondary schools.Therefore,the relevant colleges and universities should make great efforts to cultivate the experimental ability of biological normal students.In this study,literature research and semi-structured interviews methods were used to interview biology teachers in some middle schools and colleges and and universities in Guangdong Province,so as to understand their knowledge and evaluation of the corrent situation of biological experiment teaching in middle schools and the cultivation of experimental ability for biological normal students in universities.In addition,the questionnaire was used to investigate the freshman(323)and the senior(298)in majors of Normal Biological Sciences in 7 colleges and universities in Guangdong Province,in order to understand the present situation of the effect of biological experiment on freshman students in high school and the experimental ability of senior normal students in colleges and universities.The results of investigation on experimental teaching in middle schools were:(1)Most freshman were interested in biological experiments and develop a scientific attitude during high school.Their experimental ability had been preliminarily formed in high school,but there wss still much room for improvement;(2)The opening rate of experimental courses in middle schools is not optimistic.Most schools only offered about five compulsory teaching materials for compulsory education;(3)Middle school biology teachers pointed out that their experimental teaching ability was improved mainly through the practice and reflection during the coaching period,without systematic training.Suggestions for biology experiment teaching in middle school were:(1)Relevant departments and schools should pay more attention to experimental teaching,improve laboratory conditions and open laboratories;to carry out small-class experiment teaching and improve the quality of teaching;to optimize the course setting by arranging the biology class reasonably;to enrich the types of experimental resources related to life;Strengthening the training of new biology teachers' experimental teaching ability;To strengthen contact with universities and expand students' experimental research ability;(2)Teachers should improve their experimental teaching ideas and behaviors,and create a democratic experimental classroom atmosphere,select a variety of teaching methods,summarize and reflect,lifelong learning.The investigation result of experimental teaching in colleges and universities were:(1)After the undergraduate training,the experimental ability of biological normal students had been signifcantly improved compared with that of senior high school,But there was significant differences between different colleges and universities;The students of normal University had a great reduction in the degree of experimental love,but their learning habits had improved.They agreed with the importance of experimental teaching in middle schools.It was believed that the unity of theory and practice should be emphasized;(3)There were open labs in colleges and universities,and the frequency of experimental courses was higher.but the teaching method was not conducive to the cultivation of students' experimental research ability and innovative thinking.In a few colleges and universities,the experimental teaching methods were set up in middle school,but the teaching effect was not idealSuggestions for promoting experimental ability training of biology normal school students in volleges and universities were:(1)To Strength education practice management.To ensure the length of teaching practice and to disperse part of the practice classes from freshman to juniors,and to have some inspecion and supervision;(2)To constructing a comprehensive curriculum system for training the experimental ability of biology normal students.To strengthen the training of career planning,to integrate and optimize the basic experimental courses,and improve the proportion of practical courses in biological experiments in secondary school;integrate and optimize the basic experimental courses,and improve the proportion of practical courses in biological experiments in secondary schools;(3)Biological normal students should strengthen their awareness of "normal education",and to strengthen the training of experimental teaching ability and study the teaching materials and teaching methods of biology textbooks in secondary schools.In a word,the improvement of the current situation of biological experiment teaching needed to strenthen cooperation and communication between secondary schools and colleges and universities,to improve the traniing of students' experimental abilities,and to cultivate more higher biological talents for the society.
