’Ordinary high school biology curriculum standards’, clearly put forward "improve the biological science literacy", advocating the basic conception of "inquiry-based learning", proposing the target ability "the development of scientific inquiry ability", and "pay attention to learning the history of biological science ". Biological sciences is a process of development, the classic experiments in science history is a model of cultivating students’ scientific inquiry ability.Learning the history of biological science just as standing on the shoulders of giants, students can understand the nature of science, grasp the scientific research methods, learn the scientific spirit of devotion.Under the guidance of teaching theory, combining the teaching practice, using the method of literature, inquiry and teaching methods of experiment, this subject researches on the thinking and practice of the inquiry teaching in the high school biology science history. Through the student questionnaire and teacher interview, this paper analyzes the present teaching situation of high school biology science history, points out the problems existed in biological science history and inquiry teaching. According to previous research results, combining with the actual situation of my own teaching experience and the high school students, taking the form of teaching cases demonstrate different teaching modes and methods of effective inquiry teaching. Through the practice research, dig deeper into the educational value of biological science history, optimized the classroom teaching, help students to grasp the general method of science research, raise the students’ good scientific attitude, promote the development of the students’ ability to explore, stimulate students’ creativity. This research will provide a good theory reference and practice example for the future related research.
