Under the background of teachers’ specialization,Pedagogical ContentKnowledge(PCK)has become a hot research topic in the development of teachereducation and teachers’ specialization.However,there is a lack of attention to thedevelopment of PCK among specific teachers’ groups,and the PCK developmentstrategy proposed is more general and difficult to reflect professionalism.This studyis a specialized development action study of the specific teacher group based on unitdesign.It aims to open up a new perspective for the PCK research of middle schoolphysics teachers in China and provide a useful framework for the primary schoolteachers’ education,that is,to develop the junior middle school physics teacher’s PCKthrough the practice of unit design.Through the design of unit design for the development of the theory of teachers’PCK,the core concepts of PCK,teacher professional development and unit design aredefined,teaching design theory and PCK theory are combed,and the research on unitdesign and teacher PCK development at home and abroad is reviewed.Theoreticalresearch shows that the core of teacher professional development is the developmentof PCK,and the instructional design theory that points to core literacy is unit design.The relationship between unit design and PCK is discussed and demonstrated.Inthe function of pointing to the development of PCK,the unit design can make thejunior middle school physics teachers’ subject curriculum knowledge structured,thestudents’ understanding of knowledge figurative,the wisdom of teaching strategyknowledge,and the scientific knowledge of learning evaluation.In order to make theunit design better reflect the development of PCK,the relevant strategies are summedup,such as the selection strategy of teaching content,the strategy of teachingorganization,the strategy of teaching process and the strategy of learning evaluation.Two junior middle school physics teachers were selected to use unit design andlecture to teach two different guidance methods.After one year,the development of PCK was measured by interview.The effective evidence of using unit design todevelop teachers’ PCK was found.The research shows that unit design can improvethe PCK level of junior high school physics teachers in an all-round way;unit designis a very professional teaching behavior.It is suitable for teachers with high level ofPCK and instructed teachers with more solid basic skills.The development of juniormiddle school physics teacher PCK with unit design needs more effort,but at thesame time it has to point out The guidance cycle is relatively short and easier todevelop professional habits and so on.
