Quantifier is an unique part of speech of the Sino-Tibetan languages,which reflects the particular system of expression in Chinese.As quantifiers are more frequently used in spoken Chinese,in teaching Chinese as a foreign language all the classes for beginner,intermediate and advanced contain the teaching of quantifiers,which has always been one of the difficulties for second language learners.Due to the large number of noun quantifier,the complex noun-quantifier collocations and the high frequency of using quantifiers,it is one of the most difficult grammar points in Chinese language studying,and foreign students are very liable to make mistakes with quantifiers.How to make foreign students accurately select the right quantifier has become a very important problem in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Therefore the analysis on the types and reasons of biased errors which are made by the foreign learners,the instructional design and investigation of the present situation of noun quantifier and the specific advice on teaching quantifiers are of great importance to improve the quality of teaching.Many scholars and teachers have studied the Chinese Noun quantifiers and its teaching.Based on these excellent research,the cognitive theory and the second language acquisition theory,this paper intends to make inspection and study of the teaching situation of noun quantifier in TCFL by analyzing the biased errors made by second language learners.On basis of personal experience of teaching Chinese in Thailand,this paper makes systematic and integrated classroom teaching designs for some specific Chinese noun quantifiers with the examples from the unit four of the fifth grade of Experiencing Chinese,hoping to provide reference to foreign language teaching and meet the needs of students who want to systematically and completely master the quantifier.The paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter is the introduction which introduces the research background,the research target and significance as well as the research method.The second chapter is the literature review.It reviews and analyzes the related literature and achievements,and summarizes the future trend of the teaching design of the noun quantifier.The third chapter is the demonstration part,which explains the research process and method for noun quantifiers teaching design.Through analytic demonstration and proposing the research conclusion,this chapter makes specific noun quantifiers teaching design with the examples from the unit four of the fifth grade of Experiencing ChineseThe fourth chapter is the conclusion,which makes a scientific summary of the teaching design of the noun quantifier,and puts forward a deeper understanding of the research results.
