With the development of the times,today's Internet technology has increased rapidly.Like the Electric age,the Internet technology has begun to change our life in every aspect.In the middle school geography teaching,the Internet is also playing an important role.In particular,the application of Google Earth in geography teaching not only provides new methods and new ideas for traditional geography teaching,but also can solve many problems that traditional methods cannot solve.Google Earth-assisted geography teaching is a hot research field both at home and abroad,and it is also a frontier field of high school geography teaching research.With the network coverage and the universalization of mobile clients,it is becoming more and more common to use network technology to teach or solve teaching problems.Developed countries such as the United States have long prioritized the application of geographic information technology in middle school geography teaching as a key research area.After Google introduced Google Earth,a virtual globe software,in 2005,the application of Google Earth software solved the difficulties of traditional geo-information technology in terms of complex,difficult to master and difficult to achieve in middle school teaching.Google Earth is full-featured and easy-to-use.It can solve many problems that traditional teaching methods can't solve in geography teaching,and it is very interesting.It is relatively welcomed by teachers and students in middle school teaching.Through reading literature,this paper summarizes and analyzes the current research status and research significance of Google Earth assisted geography teaching at home and abroad,and finds the current research direction and practical significance of Google Earth assisted geography teaching.After determining Google Earth-assisted geography teaching as the research content and direction,through the literature reading research,the analysis of teaching theory and the use of Google Earth in the classroom,this article found the theoretical basis of education of Google Earth assited in middle school geography classroom.It is found that the application of Google Earth in middle school geography teaching conforms to cognitive discovery theory,constructivism theory and cognitive assimilation theory,and has a strong theoretical basis.With the support of educational theory and through the study of Google Earth software and the study of high school textbooks,in-depth classroom discussion and first-line teachers to discuss,and based on this experimental teaching,inviting front-line teachers to lecture and give guidance,this article analyzes the function of Google Earth that is suitable for geography teaching and the contents of geography textbooks that are suitable for teaching with Google Earth.It also analyzes the advantages of Google Earth in assisted geography teaching.It finds that Google Earth-assisted geography teaching can simplify the process of thinking,demonstrate the process of development of geographical things,can be combined with the reality of life,and it is conducive to the creation of situational teaching to meet the needs of students in the digital information network era and the requirements of modern geography classroom standards.Based on the above,through an in-depth understanding of the teaching materials and research on the application of Google Earth,this paper presents the specific application methods of Google Earth assisted geography teaching from three aspects: the understanding of natural geography things,the development process of natural geography things,and the study of regional and human geography.In the application of natural geographical things,the intuitive features of Google Earth in geography teaching are displayed,allowing students to clearly understand and know the natural geographical things.In the application of natural geographical things development process,it shows that Google Earth is conducive to the simulation of natural geographical processes,which is conducive to students in the process of understanding to form a continuous thinking.In the application of regional and human geography,Google Earth has shown its ability to search for geographic information and analyze geographic information.After the specific application,this article gives a specific application of Google Earth in the geography classroom through case study.At the end of the article,in order to implement the application of Google Earth in the middle school geography classroom,this paper analyzes the current unfavorable factors of Google Earth in geography classroom teaching,and gives four specific application promotion methods: "Google Earth geography course combined with curriculum design","Google Earth teaching needs corresponding GIS data and methods to assist","special training for geography teachers and the formation of a design team","the establishment of a special GE teaching online learning platform",so that secondary school teachers can master and use GE softwarein teaching.The innovation of this paper is to analyze the development trend at home and abroad and find out the current research direction and research methods of Google Earth.Go deep into the classroom,explore the materials,and find specific teaching content that suits Google Earth.Combining with the teaching reality,this paper studies the specific application methods of Google Earth in geography teaching and gives case teaching research.Finally,analyze the unfavorable factors in the current application of Google Earth in the middle school,and give an extension method.Nowadays,with the rapid development of Internet technology,geo-information software-assisted geography teaching such as Google Earth is not only the need of geography courses,but also the need of the development of the times.The research of Google Earth-assisted geography teaching is in the ascendant.With the advancement and maturity of technology,the space for teachers to use Google Earth to assist geography teaching in the classroom is also greater.Due to the near graduation and limited time,there are still many deficiencies in the study of Google Earth-assisted geography classroom teaching.In particular,there are still many areas for deepening the application of Google Earth-assisted geography classroom teaching.In the future of geography education career,we need to do further research on Google Earth-assisted geography classroom teaching.
