The University President,as the principal person in charge of the University,plays a pivotal role in the development of the University.The role of the University President depends on his visionary ideas and actions to put his ideas into practice.In university presidents' many educational thoughts,the influence of the teacher's concept on the education of people cannot be ignored.As the core component of the university,the teacher is the trainer of specialized talents and the passer of cultural knowledge,and determines the quality of talent training and decides the success or failure of the teaching reform.President Zhang Chuting served as principal and party committee secretary of Hunan Normal University for 18 years and served as the director of the Hunan Foreign Economics College for 12 years,cultivating numerous excellent students for the two schools and cultivating two schools with excellent ethos for pursuing truth,attaching importance to talent,respecting teachers,and loving the students.Zhang Chuting made great contributions to these two schools.The obtain of Mr.Zhang Chuting's series of successes is closely related to his educational philosophy,especially his concept of teachers is an indispensable factor in the success of his school administration.What is his principal concept of the university teachers,how it formed,and he is how to practice his teacher's view,and what impact it brings is the three major issues will be discussed in this study.On the basis of a large amount of literature review,combined with interviews with President Zhang and related teachers,explored Zhang Chuting's view on teachers and his practices.Finally,the conclusion is drawn:The principal's view of teachers mainly includes:Teacher-based view,teacher-talent view,and persure to be outstanding teachers view.The former two are the concept and practice of Zhang Chuting,but the concept of excellent teacher is Zhang Chuting's requirement and expectation for the teachers.The perspective of the analysis is slightly different.The concept of Teacher-based view refers to President Zhang's teacher-oriented view,valued teachers,and respected teachers.Teacher-based concept is the foundation of his teacher's concept.President Zhang Chuting practice his Teacher-based view by creating a respectful environment for teachers;Implementing teacher-preferred distribution policies;and strengthening academic power of teachers.Teacher-talent view refers to President Zhang attaches great importance to personnel,attach importance to a high level of teachers,at any cost to hire,retain,cultivate and manage high-level teachers,teacher-talent view is the core of President Zhang's teacher's concept,President Zhang practice his Teacher-talent view by introducing Ph.D.to create a teaching team;depending on teachers to compelete Discipline construction;and implementing free talent management policies.Excellent teachers view is his requirements and expectations of teachers.The concept of excellent teachers refers to Zhang's requirement and expectation of teachers from the three aspects:teacher ethics;teaching wisdom and teaching art;and teacher philosophy.Hope them to maximize their own functions and mission to enhance themselves and enrich the students' spiritual world and thus become a remarkable teacher,excellent teacher concept is the development of teacher Zhang's teacher's concept,President Zhang Chuting asked teachers to strengthen the construction of teachers' morality;committed themselves to the acquisition of teacher's teaching wisdom.and teaching art;created teachers' philosophy and philosophical feelings,and eventually became an outstanding teacher.Systematic study of Zhang Chuting 's view of teachers will enrich the theory of research on the relevant aspects of Zhang and deepen people 's understanding and comprehention of Zhang Chuting.In addition,through the study of Zhang Chuting' s cognition and view of university teachers,combing and refining his idea of university teachers,can enrich the teacher theory,and conducive to improving the quality of personnel training.At the same time,summing up the practice of Zhang Chuting's successful school education can provide the university president with the experience of how the manager should treat the teacher,arouse the manager's attention to the university teacher group and guide the university's teacher management reform.
