At present,human resource shortage is becoming an urgent problem to be solved for most of hotels.This shortage refers to not only the quantity but also the quality of the human resource.Many hotels recruit a large number of interns majoring in hotel management or tourism management to solve the problem of labor shortage.The proportion of interns in the hotel industry is increasing year by year.Currently,the number of hotel interns in the high-star hotel in Qinhuangdao is also increasing.From the perspective of human resource management,to develop and utilize the interns effictively will help the hotels alleviate the difficulties of human resources shortage.Based on the search of relevant databases,the author finds that in terms of hotel human resource management,there are many researches on reducing the turnover rate of hotel staff in recent years.However,few people have researched on the interns'intention to retain.It is important and necessary to build a set of hotel interns management system and improve the interns' intention to stay to retain excellent talents for the high-star hotel in Qinhuangdao.Based on the practical situation of interns in the high-star hotel in Qinhuangdao,this study makes an analysis and draws a conclusion through the combination of theoretical research and empirical research.Through questionnaires and experts interviews,it finds there were still some problems in the management of interns by hotels,and the overall satisfaction and retention of high-star hotel interns are low.This paper verifies and analyzes the results of the questionnaire survey of high star hotel interns in Qinhuangdao by using SPSS,,and finds out the influence factors that cause the interns to leave.The four factors during intern process including personal development opportunities,job duties,relationships and corporate culture influence the retain willingness,and job satisfaction plays a intermediary role between intern process and retain willingness.Finally,according to the statistical analysis results and related human resources management theories such as job characteristics theory,ERG theory,,two-factor theory,discrepancy theory,and human relations theory,this paper puts forward the specific countermeasures and suggestions for improving the intention of the internship of high-star hotels in Qinhuangdao from the perspective of hotel management,and provides reference for the human resource management of high star hotels in Qinhuangdao.
