The efficient class is inseparable from students' active participation.Students' active participation in class plays an important role both in teachers' teaching and students' learning.For a long time,geography has been rejected by the entrance examination,which resulted in a low position of geography.In geography classroom teaching,teachers did not pay enough attention to students' participation in the classroom,and students did not form the sense of participation actively in classroom teaching activities.With the development of the economy and the progress of the society,students have been raised all-round development and overall quality aims.In classroom teaching,under the guidance of teachers,students should be masters of the class activities equally,find out problems actively,gather information,explore ways to solve the problems,which are the efficient way to result in comprehensive development.The importance of students' active participation in classroom teaching is widely recognized.More and more teachers are concerned about the students' classroom participation in classroom teaching.However,in rural areas where economy is less developed,teaching conditions are poor,teaching facilities are outdated,teaching concepts are backward,in the actual geography class teaching,the phenomenon of ignoring the student's dominant status still exists extensively.Any reform is not done overnight.Although geographical subjects have been included in the entrance examination,it is still need time to change the current phenomenon that geographical subjects isn't valued.Through literature review,it is found that the current research on classroom participation is mostly focused on the period of elementary school,don't pay attention to the students in middle school,so in geography classroom teaching,how to improve students' classroom participation needs a further exploration.This paper starts from the concept definition,follows the ways of looking up literature research,investigating the status of participation in the geography classroom,analyzing the reasons of the little participation in the geography class,finding the countermeasures of improving the rate of participation in the geography class,testing the effect and feasibility of the result through teaching design,finishes this paper.In this paper,the questionnaire survey method,interview method,classroom observation method,and experiment method are mainly used to find out the current situation and main problems of rural junior high school students in geography class participation.According to the existing problems,the factors that affect the students' participation in the geography class are analyzed,starts from the influencing factors,investigates strategies for improving students' participation in geography classes.Finally,selects a lesson for teaching design and analyzes the effects through experiments to test the effectiveness of the proposed strategies.According to the survey,it was found that the participation status of rural junior high school students in geography classroom is not ideal,participation rate is generally low and passive,and the degree of participation among students is quite different.The concrete manifestations are as follows:(1)The participation initiative is not high enough,and the participation of geography classroom behavior is low;(2)There is no effective method of learning,and the cognitive participation in the geography classroom is poor;(3)The motivation for learning is not high enough,and the emotional participation in the geography classroom needs to be improved.Combined with the actual analysis of the causes of the problems,the main reasons are:(1)Students' own factors,including: the students' positioning of the geographical disciplines,the original level of students' knowledge,the special psychological development characteristics of junior high school students;(2)Teachers' influence,including : Teachers' teaching philosophy,teaching behavior,and charisma;(3)Learning environment is mainly the class style;(4)School's teaching facilities and other hardware conditions.On the basis of the analysis of causes,a strategy to improve the participation of rural junior high school students in geography classes was proposed:(1)Students,including: the formation of active participation awareness and the ability that increase active participation;(2)geography teachers: create a relaxing learning atmosphere to encourage Students to participate,design effective classroom introduction to attract students to participate,strive to improve the art of asking questions to guide students to participate,carry out extra-curricular activities actively to consolidate students' participation;(3)Head teachers,manage the class efficiently,form a good class style;(4)Schools and the related departments mainly included: helping to improve the teaching facilities,helping to construct new evaluation methods,clarifying the stratification,and helping teachers to practice their individualized teaching.Combine with the above research,we selected the “The Main Factors that form the Climate” section in the seventh grade to design the teaching.The curriculum design was based on the geography curriculum standards.Set up problem situation,guide the students to discuss,take the initiative to analyze,solve problems and construct the knowledge system.Cultivate students' ability to solve practical problems,and to realize the new concept of learning geography that is useful for life.After that,two classes were selected as the experimental class and the control class for classroom teaching,and the effectiveness and feasibility were examined through comparative analysis.The innovation of this thesis lies in that:(1)The geography classroom participation of junior high school students in rural areas as the research objects,extending and enriching the research results of geography class participation,and providing reference to relative research and practice in the future study.(2)It combines the strategy of improving students' participation in geography class with the specific teaching practice together,illustrates the applicability and feasibility of promoting strategy with the combination of class practice,and it examines the effectiveness strategy by means of teaching design.
