As a psychological illness,job burnout is possible for people from all walks of life,and teachers are no exception.Rural Secondary Education is an important part of the basic education in China,and the physical and mental health of teachers affects the effect of education and teaching.Under the circumstances of the policy of targeted poverty alleviation,intellectual development is necessary for poverty reduction.Getting children in poor areas to receive good education is an important task for poverty alleviation and area development,and also a vital way to stop the inter-generational transmission of poverty.Lianyuan,as one of the most poverty-stricken counties in Wuling Mountain,is committed to the goal of achieving the full coverage of poverty alleviation through education and the living environment of teachers there has been improved.Through the research and analysis of literature,it is found that the research object of job burnout is mainly aimed at the whole group of teachers,and the analysis of single subject teachers is not so much.Geography subject,as a traditional sense of “minor subject”,has a small proportion of curriculum.Meanwhile,neither parents nor students pay enough attention to it.These may lead to a higher degree of job burnout in geography teachers than in other subjects,thus affecting the development of geography subject.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the situation of job burnout of geography teachers in rural junior middle school in poverty-stricken areas and to provide strategies to prevent or alleviate teachers' job burnout,so as to consolidate the achievements of education poverty alleviation and promote the development of geography discipline.Based on the relevant theory of job burnout,the paper uses questionnaire and interview to investigate the job burnout of geography teachers in junior middle school in Lianyuan;then uses Spss24.0 to analyze the questionnaire data,and finally proposes mitigation strategies according to the interview results.The results of the study show that:(1)On the whole,there is only slight job burnout among junior middle school geography teachers in this city,which indicates that the education poverty alleviation has achieved certain effects.And high level of the emotional exhaustion indicates low teaching mood of geography teachers.(2)There is no significant difference in burnout levels between geography teachers and teachers of other subjects,indicating that geography subject is not biased.(3)Compared with the non-poverty area,there are just a few differences in job burnout among geography teachers in this city.However,teachers in the city are more depressed and have low job satisfaction,which requires the attention of rural education management department.(4)In the analysis of demographic variables,gender,age,class hours,and income level have great impact on the job burnout,while teaching age,education background,professional title,marital status,grade taught and whether they are served as a teacher in charge of a class have little impact on the job burnout.(5)The order of influence degree of each factor on job burnout is:welfare treatment,teacher status,work load,social expectation,evaluation mechanism,personal development space,teaching environment,and self psychological quality.In addition,the quality ofstudents and the interpersonal relationship are also the factors that affect teachers' burnout.
