The development and construction of curriculum resources is the light spot of thenew round Curriculum Reform of Elementary Education. The Geography ClassResource is one of the key components of curriculum resources, while rural landresource is an indispensible part of Geography Class Resource. However, at present,the development of rural land resource is relatively insufficient in the ethnic groupinhabited areas of Yunnan Province. Therefore, enhancing the development ofgeography class resource will exert significant influence on the whole picture of thecurriculum reform. As a result, how to fully develop and utilize the rural land resourcein the ethnic group inhabited areas of Yunnan Province and how to make up theshortage of curriculum resources have become the priority problems needed to besolved during the course of reform.In this research report, the author took Heqing County in Dali Bai Autonomousperfecture as an example. Questionnaire survey and interviews to the students andteachers about the geography class in middle school have been done in this research.Besides, the author used SPSS20.0software package to analyze the statistics. With thehelp of these aforementioned methods, the author tries to explore the presentdevelopment situation of Middle School Geography Class Resource and someproblems during the course of utilizing it. This research report proposed somesolutions to these problems in order to promote the development of the geographyeducation and other related subjects in minority areas of Yunnan Province. The mainresearch outcomes are:Present problems: although students are interested in the Geography ClassResource, they have no idea on hoe to build the data base; students can not have agood knowledge of their own hometown; students do not have strong geographylearning ability and lack of practicing. As for the geography teachers, they have theawareness of exploring curriculum resources, but with no actual actions. Teachers relyon the text books too much and don’t eager to design activities in the class which leadto the geography class very boring. What’s more, the information teachers got is notclosely related to the outside world.Solutions: teachers should be given proper training courses so as to improve theawareness and the ability to utilize the available recourse; integrating the recourses,formulating the sharing system to build a resources data base; promoting the security net and proposing practical education; compiling the text book suited for the localstudents in Heqing County.
