| Textbooks are the main means of teaching and learning.The examples and exercises on the textbooks are an important part of the textbooks.Therefore,it is of great significance to study examples of textbooks.In this study,the high school pedagogic high school physics teaching materials with a high domestic usage rate were selected for research.The research content consists of two parts.One is to analyze the setting features of examples and exercises on the textbook;the second is to investigate the actual knowledge and usage of examples and exercises of teachers and students.The setting characteristics of examples and exercises are divided into surface features and comprehensive difficulty.Through the analysis of textbooks and questionnaire surveys,the following conclusions were drawn from this study:(1)Characteristics of the examples:The overall number of examples is less than usual,and it is generally arranged after the important knowledge in the text;the richness of the questions’ type and backgrounds is lacking;the information presentation mode is mainly “pure text”;the answering process is mainly text narrative,supplemented by illustrations.In terms of comprehensive difficulty,textbook examples are mostly at the “understanding” and “apply” levels;“reasoning level” and “computational level” are high,“knowledge level” is low,and overall difficulty is moderate.(2)The characteristics of the exercises:Exercises are set after each section,and no exercises are set after the chapter;the number of exercises is moderate;the number of exercises set in each section is between 4 and 7;the question types are mainly short answer questions and calculation questions;the information presentation mode is mainly “plain text”."Backgrounds are single;they are mostly "pure knowledge" types of exercises;in terms of comprehensive difficulty,the problems are mostly at the "understanding" and "applying" levels,and the overall difficulty is lower than the textbooks’ examples in the most common way is the analysis of the class to explain,appropriate extensions to the textbook example exercises.The reasons for influencing the usage of textbook examples include the following: the insufficiency of the textbook example exercises,the actual learning situation of students,the phenomenon of remedial classes,and the proliferation of supplementary materials.(4)Cognition and Suggestions:Differences between teachers and students in understanding the teaching materials.Teachers think that the number of exercises is too small and students think it is moderate;teachers and students believe that problem types are not rich enough,and there is a big difference between them;teachers and students think that the examples are clearly analyzed;teachers think that the textbook examples are simple and students think that the difficulty is moderate.Teachers and students suggested additional exercises for the final chapter. |
