Research On Group Work Intervention In Psychiatric Patients’ Rehabilitation Services Under The Advantage Recovery Model

Mental illness is a chronic disease with high relapse rate.It is not uncommon for the discharged patients to return to hospital.The reason caused this phenomenon is that hospital treatment give the physical and psychological pressure and pain to the psychiatric patients,the opportunities for labor,learning,life and social contact are lost because living in the sickroom and they can’t adapt themselves to social life after discharge.In addition,the public awareness of mental illness is "demonized" and"tagged",they think of mental illness as a brutal and unintentional group,having low social evaluation and be excluded and discriminated against.The social worker used the advantage recovery model to provide service for reconvalescents with mental illness in the hospital to better integrate into society and be accepted by the society after leaving hospital.Social workers carried out self-awareness group activities,the advantages and abilities of the team members were restored,and the self-confidence of the team members was regained.In order to define the service effect of social work,this paper adopted the way of comparison.Through the experiment group and the reference group--social worker carried out professional group activities for members of the experimental group,while did not have any influence on the reference group.Under the control of other factors,we compared the effect of the experimental group and the reference group,and finally came to the conclusion.After the group work carried out by social workers,the average self confidence of the service objects increased by 1.6 points,which proved that the social workers had achieved great results by using the advantage recovery model.The reason we can achieve great success is that the advantage recovery model has many advantages:It attaches importance to "advantage" rather than "problem",is committed to "regress" rather than "mold",and to make mental illness be accepted by society by means of "pushing oneself to others".At the same time,the advantage recovery mode adapted to China’s "relationship society" and catered to the "Chinese mentality"also proves that its mode can be popularized in China.However,the advantage recovery model is still inadequate:The lack of consolidation effect resulted in a decrease in the effect of the group after a period of reentry into infected patch,and there is a subjective view in the assessment of reconvalescents with mental illness,because the questionnaire survey adopted a 1-10 point system,which resulted in the strong subjectivity of the questionnaire data and the lack of objectivity in the final result.
