The examples of the textbooks and the number, level, style and focus of the exercises in the textbooks reflect the overall level, style and tendency of the middle school mathematics curriculum. The diffculty of the exercises reflects the depth of the mathematics curriculum. The quality of the textbook exercises plays a vital role in the quality of the students' learning. This paper selects the A version of the standard textbook for senior high school mathematics curriculum published by people's education press and the compulsory teaching materials of the Beijing Normal University as the research object. The data statistics and comparative analysis are carried out through the surface structure(number, background, type)and the deep structure(the consistency of the hierarchy, the difficulty and the case problems).By comparing the two editions of compulsory textbook exercises, the following conclusions can be drawn:(1)The number of exercises in the two versions of the textbooks is relatively large, and they both pay more attention to the training of thinking. The total number of exercises is basically the same(2199 of the Beijing Normal University version and 2050 of A version of people's education press),but the average number of exercises per class time of the Beijing Normal University is 0.8 more than that of the average A version of people's education press. The Beijing Normal University edition pays more attention to the practice of the function part while A version of people's education press emphasizes more on the practice of the geometric part.(2)There are various types of exercises in the two versions and both of them give priority to the traditional questions(simple answer, calculation and proof),attach importance to drawing questions, add more objective exercises, and some questions are exploring;(3)The two versions of the compulsory textbooks bear the similar background of the exercises. There are more "pure" math problems, while there is a lack of background questions(about 20%),mainly focused on the background material of common sense types;(4)On the level of the exercises, the two versions of the compulsory textbooks have a strong hierarchy, highlighting the fundamentality and expansibility, paying attention to the hierarchy of the arrangement, focusing on the variant practice and imitating practice,in which Beijing Normal University's edition is more basic than the A edition of people's education press, and the A edition of people's education press pays more attention to the comprehensive practice than the North Normal University Edition.(5)In the difficulty of the exercises, the two versions of the textbooks is based on the comprehension exercises, and the memorizing exercises are supplemented;the mathematical operation is emphasized, the second is the simple symbol operation;exercises with simple reasoning are the main exercises to consolidate and deepen the understanding of knowledge.Among them, the difficulty of exercises in Beijing Normal University is lower than that in A edition of people's education press, which pays more attention to the allocation of basic exercises, especially to the allocation of comprehensive exercises.A version of people's education press has higher requirements for computing power than the Beijing Normal University Edition.(6)In the comparison of the consistency of the difficulty of the textbook and the difficulty of the exercises, the two versions of the textbook is similar;among them, the example questions of the Beijing Normal University Edition focus on the numerical operation, the exercises are mainly complex symbols, the examples are concentrated on the understanding of the single knowledge points and the exercises focus on the multiple knowledge points. The number of the inquiry exercises of the A version of people's education press are higher than that of the examples.
