Since the implementation of the minimum wage system in China in 2004,the domestic research on the minimum wage system has gradually become more and more, and many scholars on the minimum wage system mainly focus on the employment effect and income effect of the minimum wage system. Most of the research only discusses the minimum workers from one aspect of employment or income. The effect of the implementation of the capital system. Therefore, different scholars have different conclusions on the evaluation of the minimum wage system. Some studies believe that the minimum wage system is a good system to protect residents' income. However, some studies have shown that the minimum wage system will have a certain inhibitory effect on the employment and income of our residents. In order to evaluate the policy effect of the minimum wage more accurately, this paper will study the two aspects of the minimum wage, including employment and income. This paper analyzes the impact mechanism of the minimum wage on the employment and income of urban residents in China. This paper holds that the minimum wage affects urban residents' employment through the cost effect and affects the income of urban residents through the efficiency wage effect. This paper uses the data of China's household income survey data in 2002,2007,2008 and 2013 for four years as well as the data of the minimum wage standard through manual collection of provinces and municipalities, analyses the employment effect of the minimum wage system by using the Logit model, and analyzes the income effect of the minimum wage system by OLS regression. The double difference method is used to analyze the employment effect and income effect of the minimum wage, and the effect of the minimum wage system on the employment and income of the urban residents in different sex and different regions is analyzed in detail, and the corresponding conclusions are drawn. The results of the study are as follows:(1)from the whole, the improvement of the minimum wage standard has a negative impact on the employment of urban residents in China, and the impact on women is more significant than that of men.It is also in line with this rule, but there is a difference between the East and the central and western regions. The specific performance is that the improvement of the minimum wage standard has a more significant impact on the employment of urban residents in the western and western regions than in the eastern region. However, the employment effect of the minimum wage system shows a decreasing trend over time, whether from the whole or from regional discussions.(2)from the whole, the improvement of the minimum wage standard will increase the income of urban residents in China. The minimum wage standard has a greater impact on the income of urban residents in China than the income of urban residents. In terms of regions,it also conforms to this rule, but in the long run, this paper believes that the impact of the minimum wage on the employment and income of urban residents is gradually reduced because of the improvement of the quality of labor and the increase of the per capita income level of urban residents in China.Comprehensive analysis results,we think,at the present stage, the minimum wage standard for urban residents in China's employment will play a negative role, and to improve the income of urban residents in China is favorable.Through the analysis of the results of this paper, this paper holds that the implementation of the minimum wage system in China is more effective. On the basis of continued maintenance,it can be further improved from the two aspects of the minimum wage standard and the implementation of the minimum wage system, while reducing the employment effect of the minimum wage system. We should give full play to the positive income effect of the minimum wage system.
